Internet access wi-fi and active sync

just did a hard reset and reloaded my x50v WM2003 2nd edition. I restored a backup, then confirmed the PPC was working. My activesync is version 3.8.0
I was able to access the internet (via internet explorer) via the active sync connection. I went to various web-sites. :approve:
Then I set up the wifi connection (selecting ‘work’). Verified that I could go to different websites. :approve:

Then I sync up and guess what – I can’t access websites through active sync! If I take the PPC out of the cradle , turn on wifi, then I can surf.

So what’s up? I want to access the internet both ways.

I had this problem with my x51v running WM5 and Activesync 4.1

I found the answer in the Activesync help menu.

On the ActiveSync on your PC:
1. Click File >> Connection Settings ...

2. Open ActiveSync when my device connects should be checked.

3. In the This computer is connected to list, select The Internet or whatever connection to which this computer should connected when passing through ActiveSync.

PROBLEM (fixed?) edit.

Now I do not have access to files/folders on my Axim x51v from my PC. Looks like my change to make Internet access through USB killed file browsing.

I tried using the "Sync" option for files, but that is a pain compared to just opening up the folders like I was used to doing.

Any suggestions as to how to get my PPC browsing from my PC back? I have tried deleting the partnership with the PPC, but upon connecting the PDA again no browsing available still.

I used "ActiveSyncToggleBeta.exe" yesterday to "disable" AS and when I used it today and "enabled" AS even though AS worked before this point today, I now see I can access the PDA folders once more. Oh well, I guess this was the problem...
