I am amazed at the progress, I really thank you so much that you are all working in this to make this into a reality. So basically this package won't cause a problem but it will not work either right beemer?

Just a thought:
I've just remembered OzVGA 192dpi dlls didn't work at the begining. It was because they weren't digitally signed and we needed a new signed version. Maybe we have the same problem with widcomm drivers. The dlls we have aren't signed. Maybe they are not loading for this reason. What do you think?

well does anyone know if the bluetooth radio in the x51v and x50v the same? Or is the part of the OS that communicates with it different in the OS? It would be really useful to have a copy of x51v WM5.

Isn't the very reason that Dell didn't use the W. drivers the fact that the hardware they used in the x51v is actually Dell not Wadcomm? If that is the case, isn't it pretty unlikely that W. drivers will work on a x51v?

no, the reason is because Dell has to pay Widcomm to use their software, and they also have to develop it for the device (like we are doing it now). It was a cost cutting measure.

Thank you for the clarification
Damn bastards! I would have paid even 50 dollars more on this device just for this stuff, honestly!

FWIW, in case it wasn't mentioned upthread, the new Acer PPC has a wonderfully functional Bluetooth section while running WM5. It was reported that it's Widcom Bluetooth version 1.7
BTW, those are available as model N300, N311, and N312 outside the US. They also have a mini USB connector. Very handy, and so much nicer than that messed up synch we Axim users tolerate.

Just curious, isn't this the idea that got people successfully cracking windows onto Mac machines? :)
