Listen, you it doesnt matter if cingular charges a lot of connecting via dun. just put in some fake phone number. If it dials anything, (and it wont charge unless you dial cingulars internet access number), it works. We are getting VERY, VERY close. So far it seems like we are just having some problems with people being able to connect to the ax but the ax not being able to connect to them and vice versa.
what about keyboard?
Dang, the bluetooth OBEX file transfer speed is only 9kbps! Even my phone is faster then that! It use to go faster with the MS stack. At least it works...
Also activesync over bluetooth doesnt seem to be working
Are you going to say what you did to get it working? Did you just throw a bunch of files together and sign them, or did it require actual coding? Im just curious
Well,
We have done it work with the chipset, but now we have a great work doing every profile work.
Probably we can make work all the stuff... but not in a single day.
The good news is that it seem to be possible, and there is no bad news...
Tomorrow more.... (take into acount that Mikek and I were from Spain and now here is very late...)
I think it would be useful to organize a "whats works, and whats not" report that we can actualize and serve as a guide for people to work on diferent profiles.
Aximbigfan: Hackaday.com woeuld be more adecuate ;)
It might not be a good idea to spread the word just yet!
1. It's not finished.
2. Who knows what legal issues there are (might get a nasty letter).
3. It would be better to wait till it is done and widely distributed!
I think it's best to keep it under your hat for awhile. Just my 2 cents...
1. OBEX is indeed slow: about 9 kbyte/s, while , in the same config, the same PPC can send to the iPAQ 2210/3660 between 25...28 kbyte/s.
2. the BT stack does work with the StowAway BT keyboard (NOT the HP keyboard!!) just great.
3. you may encounter some lag in fast-paced more-than-two-players (for example, the excellent Gold Rush) action games over BT PAN; you can greatly reduce lag if only one of the other PPC's connects to the x51v .
I'll write a small switcher app tomorrow to easily switch betweenn the MS annd the Widcomm stack, should you still need the MS stack (for example, for DUN purposes)
