- I didn't run the .35 registry update after I installed .36. Only after I installed .35.
- I used Resco for the registry updates. Some people have said it worked for them, so I don't consider that an issue.
- I have used full power off with the power button for restarts.

One thing that was puzzling. In .35 there were (2) platform registry updates, one labeled "new". Should I not have run that one? I ran both of them. There were no instructions associated with it. One thing I noticed about it was it turned my audio off and I had to reset that registry key afterwards. The other platform registry update didn't.

I'm not all hot for this since I just wanted to use a headset with Skype and I understand I can't even if this works, but any help would be appreciated.

I have similar setup:
I loaded .36 according to Beemers instructions until they suggest activating .Reg file
then I activated the OLD .35 reg file ( not the one named new)
then I completed beemers instructions including activating the .36 reg file

Here's a strange one...

I've been running 0.36 successfully for some time now. Today i tried to turn on bluetooth and I got the "insuffcient memory..." error.

Soft reset and it works again perfectly

Anyone else had this?

This is very common for Widcomm BT Stack... Don't worry about it, as you know the workaround...

Widcomm BT Stack is much more "memory-widemouthed" then MS BT Stack

On a side note, I meant to add this earlier, I use GSPocketMagic, it has a soft reset option that always seams to do the trick also some nice other features. Here it is...

Where did you hear that? Did you happen to hear if that'd be ported over to the x50 line? :D

If I backed up with sprite and then upgraded to A07 could I go back easily?

Think it would be a good Idea to keep your 06 Rom Update or download it from Dell site if yours came with 06

If it is true that A07 has A2DP, it means that BT speed limit has to be solved... the, we will change to widcomm, maintain A2DP and all other services but at a higher speed.

It would be interesting to test it.

From my dell rep:

We are updating the description of bluetooth profiles supported in the online tech specs to be more specific about exactly what profiles are supported. That said, the system does indeed have bluetooth...it's just a different stack than the old Broadcom.

Dell does not develop the Microsoft stack, we only implement the stack that they offer. Microsoft does not support all the Bluetooth Profiles For instance, the Headset Profile is not offered in the Pocket PC SKU, only the Phone Edition and Smartphone SKU. Dell has asked for Microsoft to put this Profile in the Pocket PC SKU but they refuse to see the need it that. Bluetooth Audio (A2DP) was not in WM 5.0 at the time it was launched, but now it is. Bluetooth Audio will be in our next ROM release very shortly.

This is very interesting. If the BT UART driver from A07 could be ported to A06 (or any other ROM revision for that matter) we could not only get full speed bluetooth, we could get full speed bluetooth with the widcomm stack without having to worry about upgrading to A07 :D
