From my dell rep:
Microsoft does not support all the Bluetooth Profiles For instance, the Headset Profile is not offered in the Pocket PC SKU, only the Phone Edition and Smartphone SKU. Dell has asked for Microsoft to put this Profile in the Pocket PC SKU but they refuse to see the need it that. ...
This is typical Microsoft B.S. They are, once again, trying to cripple a device or protocol so that they can force consumers to do what THEY want. When you can do something like that it's called a Monopoly. They problably want people to go out and buy smart phones or something else that is on their release calendar.
Yea, I agree with previous posters... a rom update is certainly welcome, but keep working on the Widcomm project. I will certainly want to install the Widcomm stack on A07 and I am willing to donate some money when it's done. None of Microsoft's BT stacks on any platforms are up to snuff.
I don't think my corp dell rep would lie. I work for a cable company's IT depart(no comments please ;) . And we spend ALOT of money on there products. Its funny, I was told if I bought the axim thru the corp account instead of my personal account I would get an american tech support rep that is in the USA. Seems that BIG corp accounts only get support in the states and there calls are not suppose be transfer to a over-seas call center.
Tell you one thing, I will be purchasing all my future personal stuff thru corp account for the support. I'm am so tried of asking these support reps to repeat themselves.
My friend dont know when dell release A07, maybe 1-2 month or earlier.
I have from internal information, dell releasing new firmware for their products every 3 month or earlier.
just for the record 3 months was reached on march 3:rd.
Quite many PDA developers have been giving out their AKU 2.0 updates, so Dell is perhaps dead last on this issue... If I only had known this when I bought the damn thing, I would have gone with the Pocket Loox 720!

If I backed up with sprite and then upgraded to A07 could I go back easily?
Sprite can only save data in the user-filesystem, the files in the firmwareimage are not writable. You will need to write the ROM with the Dell-tool.
And please keep in mind that Sprite for WM5 is currently not able to properly restore data from a previous romversion - so you will need to reinstall from scratch. However, I find this not that hard, as most programs reinstall quite easily, and PIM-data synch without userintervention.
In my case, reinstalling would mean to reset some standard applications, resynch my contacts and arrange some icons in Pocket Plus. Appx. 1hour - less than I spent with the Widcommpackages ;-)
Not sure if it's at all helpful, but O2 has released an AKU2.0 update for the XDA Mini S as of yesterday. I'm not one to attempt stripping of files from the update, but others might find it useful:
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but has this project come to a stop because we're going by someone's word that an dell is releasing an update? Cause people have being saying this since day 1 about x50v's WM5, and nothing ever happened.

No. The fact is we are a little bit stalled trying to solve the speed issue. We aren't sure yet of what's causing this problem.
