I definetively don't know what made AS over USB not work. I've hard resetted, restored a backup made just yesterday and tried to reproduce the fail again and it seems to be impossible now. I've even imported a full registry dump made when I was having the problem but it seems to work OK now.

What I've noticed is it seems the device identifies itself different, as ActiveSync asks again to configure a new partnership.

Maybe the problem could be solved deleting the partnerships in options menu of Axim's ActiveSync and letting it to connect again, but I don't know.

I've attached the reg patch with the differences between 0.35 and 0.37 again, as it seems to have made BT AS work (at least for JamesH5100). Make sure you have all your data in a safe place before trying it. Well, you should make sure about it before doing anything posted in this thread!!! :)

Well I'm doing some more tests and while everything seems to be golden at this point, BT Activesync is giving me errors. USB works fine, just bt.

I'm getting:
"The file "1" cannot be opened. Either it is signed with a trusted certificate or the components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."

I'm gonna play with the reg and see what I come up with.

I just updated my geristry with the "diff0[1].35-0.37" from Mikelspikel and BT ActiveSync works..

Previously I was getting the same error as player911 and uphi.

Hmmm.

Well I'm finding an adverse effect of the .35-.37 difference file.

Before I could at least connect with my PC's Activesync service, now I can't. Bluetooth manager doesn't even see it as a service being offered. The only thing it see's is a personal Ad-Hoc server.

I still get the "File "1" cannot be found" but I cannot get the activesync profile to work with BT. I tested and it still works with USB connections.

I reverted back to the .37 reg file, and the same thing. I guess I'll have to hardreset this thing again. I'll wait a while and see what solutions come up.

Majk - Won't you post a full registry backup. I'll post mine. Lets compare.

Go into Resco Registry.
Click and drag, highlighting all main Reg paths. Tap and hold until a menu with "Export" comes up. Tap export and save the file.

Transfer the file to your pc and post it. Aximsite only allows up to 100kb. Mine was 156kb. I had to host the file in my briefcase on yahoo, and copy the link and post the link here.

The reg patch with the differences between 0.35 and 0.37 worked for me.
But you have to make connection trough the Bluetooth Manager:
Use the connection wizard to make a "Activesync via bluetooth" icon, and then connect with it.
When you use "connect via bluetooth" in activesync it will still give the error.

Great job mikelspikel, now everything i need on my pda works (stereo headset and activesync)

PS: I've also mailed with the developers of PocketMusic and their next version will support AVRCP, so then everything will be even more perfect ;-)

I got it working. What I had to do was make my PC discover the Axim. Once the PC discovered the Axim it installed serveral ports (5 and 6). Port 5 being the serial port over bluetooth. Port 6 was an incoming port that AS will use.

Set Activesync to listen on port 6.

On the Axim, I created an Activesync connection for BT and it found it and synced up immediately.

I'll play around with it and see what comes of it.
-------------------------
For those interested in my steps.. here goes a quick recap.
Hardset
Manually copied .37 over as instructed in the install.txt
Performed the .37 Reg install
Imported the Coexistance3.reg to my registry.
Imported the .35-.37 Difference reg.
Imported .37 reg again overtop everything (may or may not need the coexsistance3.reg)
Hop on left leg (right leg causes errors) and pat your head with right hand at the same time.

Do that and hope all goes well. I think that pretty much raps it up.
Handsfree works
PAN works
DUN works
AS w/ USB works
AS w/ BT works
A2DS (or whatever) stereo audio gateway works (from what I hear)
OBEX Push works

I think summing this all up into one Install / cab would finalize it. Congrats and thanks for everyone's hard work

Yea I found that out. Wonder why AS produces this error. Regardless it works. Going through the steps of installing the AS profile, it'll automatically connect anyway. Going into ActiveSync in the Axim's menu "Connect Through BT" is/would be just an extra step anyway.

I guess if mikelspikel wants to be anal he can try to fix that little problem so it routes to the widcomm connection in Activesync. It works so I'm not worried. If there was a patch to make it work, I would install it just to make everything "perfect".

Wow, a lot happened on this thread overnight.

thunderstreich, can you confim if you applied 0.36 reg file only or 0.35 too? 0.35 has some entries not included in 0.37.
Correct, I installed 0.37, then 0.36, and then 0.37 again. I haven't touched 0.35 since the hard reset (by the way, the 0.35 zip has three reg files in it and I have always been confused as to which one is the right one) I did the same thing as you and compared 0.37 and 0.36 line by line and found that everything in 0.36 would have been overwritten by 0.37. Go figure?

After doing all of this, here is where I stand: AS over BT and USB both work. A2DP works with everything, but AVRCP only works with WMP. With HSP I can connect and hear a helicopter noise, but thats it: no audio is transfered from the axim speaker to the headset and the microphone does not work either. As a side note, before I imported the 0.36 on top of the 0.37, HSP was equally unusable but when it connected there was no helicopter noise (just a faint buzz). Ad-Hoc Networking (which I think is the same thing as PAN) does not work for outing connections (it gets stuck on "Connecting...") but works fine for incoming connections. Finally, and I know this is very vague, the whole stack seems a little bit quirky. For example, sometimes when I "Explore a Bluetooth device" it will work fine and show me the services, sometimes it will search for almost two minutes and then fail, and sometimes it will fail immediately. Things like that.
