Locating programs and files in Main Memory.

I'm growing short of memory and wonder how one might find which programs can be moved into the built in storage on my X50v. How can I find and identify where the programs are nested. Then am I able to cut and past them into the built in storage?

Thanks for any help.

Generally most programs will run in BIS or storage card, but you need to delete them, then reinstall to appropriate place of your choice. If in doubt, try it.

If you are running an X50V with WM2K3.2 (not WM5) and are not using BIS, I would have to ask, why not?

I've read about not running today apps and PIMs and such out of BIS, but my experience has been that I can install them to BIS.

BTW, Welcome to Aximsite, clemdda3!

Welcome.
If it's installed to MAIN most likely it will be in My Documents folder. You cannot just move it, you have to uninstal them reinstal it to BIS. I would only instal today programs to Main, If I would need a program if I pulled my CF/SD card, I usually instal that program to BIS. All other programs I intal to a memory card.

Read this thread, there are some solutions to keep installation to specific folder whereever you choose.

I have found that if something has been installed to main memory and I want to move it without the hastle of reinstalling then go to the program files folder and cut and paste the program to where you want it, then find the program's file that runs the program inside the program's folder(usually the one with the icon resembling the program) , select copy and then go to the windows folder (in main memory) and go into start menu. This is the folder with the files for the start menu, so you can then go into programs and then paste a shortcut where you want it in the programs window and then delete the old shortcut for the program. This has always worked fine for me and if it doesn't work then it is easy to put everything back where it was.
