I have a CD player, no audio-in option, so I bought a "cheapie" FM transmitter and modified it to add an antenna at 1/4 wavelength (just a 33" wire). The thing is surprisingly clear when in a remote location. Living in a metro, I do have some interference. I'm looking to wrap that antenna around my car's antenna cable somewhere.

iRiver works fine

I picked up an iRiver AFT100 at Best Buy. It lets you choose any FM band and has 3 preset buttons you can program with your "favorite" frequencies. I travel between two cities weekly and have stored the best choice for each location. I only notice static when a strong signal is on the frequency I'm using.
