syncing 2 computer on 1 x51v

This is a little complicated to explain, but I need some help. I have 2 computers, 1 work and 1 home. Both are running activesync 4.1 and outlook 2003. I am trying to keep everything sync'ed. I had a task showing at home, work and on the pda. At work I completed the task - so I marked it complete and then synced before leaving. Now I show no task at work and no task on the pda. When I get home, I sync again and instead of marking the task complete at home - it put it back into the pda as not complete. I can't figure a way around this, but it seems like there should be a way. Anyone?

Thanks,
Shannon

I have a similar problem. Does it affect all tasks or just, as in my case, recurrent ones?

I haven't set up any recurring tasks. This was just a stand alone task.

Anyone?

I am also concerned about this affecting other things such as calendar appointments and contacts as well, but I havent' been back to work to test it yet...

If anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Thank you,
Shannon

Can anyone else offer some input on this. It seems like a big deal to me.

Sorry for bumping this thread so much, but Dell support is no good and I would love to get this resolved.

If anyone has this problem (or doesn't) I'd love to know.

Thanks,
Shannon

syncing 2 computers solution??

I searched here and found that the topic came up several times.
This is what was suggested:

Install ActiveSync to the PC
Plug the cradle into USB
Place the Axim in cradle
Follow prompts -
Standard partnership
Synchronize with this desktop computer
Select items to be synchronized
Finish

Do others agree that this is how to do it?? I want it to work but I want to confirm that this will work so I don't mess things up.

I have both work and home PCs synched with my Axim

At work I have All contacts, tasks calendar and email conflict resolution = PC overwrite to PDA

At home I have JUST contacts, tasks and calendar NO email copy over and PDA overwrites PC

Both are standard partnerships not guest

I have never had a problem with tasks etc being anything other than the latest on all devices after sync

Its not a perfect setup but until I have time to play with the new mozilla suite and fichsync and get rid of the rubbish that is activesync/outlook it will have to do

I am just kind of afraid to pick pda overwrites pc. What happens if I change something on my home pc first? Maybe I'm asking too much from the pda, but I would like it to keep everything current (deleting or marking complete when appropriate)...I think I'm getting more and more lost...

conflict ONLY occurs when you have updated both PDA and PC since the last SYNC, if you choose PDA updates computer but you have only changed the PC the PDA will get updated
