Cannot Sync my x51v

I recently purchased an Axim X51V. It syncs fine with my home desktop computer via usb, but will not sync via usb with the notebook I use for work. When I try to connect it, the computer does recognize that a device has connected, but activesync does not. I have tried everything I can think of(based on suggestions found here) to get it to work except for adjusting the the firewall settings (since this is a company owned computer, I do not have access to the firewall settings).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I give Bluetooth a try? If the firewall is the problem, will Bluetooth bypass it?

It's the windows firewall. It needs to allow a network connection between your PC and Axim.

Mine does that at work, too. Sometimes it will sync immediately and sometimes it will get stuck at "Connecting" and I have to start over. I read something on the Microsoft Activesync 4.0 page that describes this. It claims that it is a firewall issue and that 4.1 fixes MOST of the problems. Of course, I have 4.1 and it still does it occassionally.

On my work computer, Activesync does not recognize my x51v at all. Will a buletooth connection bypass the firewall issue?
