As much as I hate to back up the PSP, it has some wonderful developers.
IR Remote -

GPS -

File Transfer (WIFI/IR) -

12Gb? Ok not quite 12, but it can do upto 4Gb and a PSP hard drive has been release (costing around £120).
Keyboard - a working on screen keyboard has been released for inclusion in homebrew applications, this however does not compare with the keyboard found on a PDA.
Ok, so now we have that out the way we should probably meantion that most of the applications created on the PSP can only be used if you have the original 1.0 (japan) or 1.5 (american) firmware. There have been programs/exploits released which allow you to run SOME homebrew on later firmware versions, but for the full experience you need the early firmwares. This also means you lose out on sony's official PSP applications, like the web browser, but thats no great loss.
The PSP is a machine built for gaming, it has since been turned into a homebrew application machine with some very amazing results. However, it will never beat a PDA for useability in the area's it was never meant to venture into, reguardless of its steps forward.
We should also meantion that the applications avalible on the PSP (in the most) are freeware, BUT not really legal.
http://www.gbax.com/indexgp2x.html - is also worth a meantion as an open source hand held console which has dual ARM based chips :)
