Finally installing WM5 update on X50v - problem w/ActiveSync?

Finally getting around to installing the Dell WM5 upgrade on my X50v (A04). I downloaded ActiveSync 4.1 from the MS site, instead of version on the Dell CD, and the AS install went fine. However, when I attach the X50v to the cradle, AS just says "Connecting" and never does anything - any ideas?

I hard reset the X50v twice now, and removed and reinstalled AS twice as well. Any help or suggestions appreciated!

make sure you have disabled your firewall and antivirus before you go any further. also under network connections you should see your mobile, it is called Local Area Connection on my pc and when you roll the mouse over it you shouls see Windows Mobile Device. You need to check to be sure that when you click on properties that the box for IP is checked.

DONT DO IT! Sorry but I tried it for two months and almost stopped using my axim until I rolled back.

Thanks! It turned out it TrendMicro PC-cillin firewall needed to be setup to allow the ActiveSync connection. I was able to find the info needed on MS's troubleshooting site here. :)

For those who have upgraded their X50v to WM5, is there more program storage available? I note that there's 64MB of RAM and 128MB ROM now. Will I be losing storage space with WM5? Dell has a ROM update available that will revert back WM2003.
