Unable to Sync my X51v w/ my Outlook

HELP!!

I am unsuccessful syncing with my Windows Outlook at work which is accessed via my company's LAN. However, this should not be a problem as I downloaded the latest ActiveSync ver 4.1. We use Windows 2000 at my company.

Besides other Axim users are syncing ok, albeit they do have older Axims.

I know that the Axim is ok, as it will sync with my desktop Windows XP at home.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong! The Dell technical support person could not help me.

Are you trying to sync to a Microsoft Outlook application installed on your computer or are you trying to sync to a web-based Microsoft Outlook?

As long as you have the *.pst and the *.pab file on your computer, you shouldn't have any problem.

You also may be facing admin rights issues. ActiveSync should be installed by someone in your I.T. department that has administrative rights to install programs correctly on your PC.

I will look into it. I did speak to someone in IT and unfortunately she was not very familiar with PDAs and synching in general. I will try to locate someone more knowledgeable. It's interesting to note that office mates who use earlier versions of Axim have not had a problem with syncing to their Outlook. By the way, we use Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 at my company.
