TCPMP causing crashes on WM5. Any fixes?
Everything I've ever read on Aximsite says that TCPMP is safe for WM5.
So I download and install TCPMP version 0.71 (the latest version), and my Axim (x51v running WM5 AO1) starts crashing at random intervals. After going through several weeks of this, I uninstalled TCPMP a couple of days ago, and I don't think I've had to soft reset since.
The only other software I am running is Magic Button, Toy Golf, Paolazip, and Total Commander.
Has anybody else had problems with TCPMP? Are there any fixes for it? Should I try to upgrade my ROM to A06?
Thanks,
Delta

You should definately upgrade to Ao6..i did and theres some definate improvements on overall speed and lack of crashes. As for TCPMP i've never had any problems. Try re-downloading and installing..who knows maybe you installed the wrong version..make sure you download the correct one for your processor...

And wouldn't ya' know it, I had to soft-rest not too long after writing this.
I re-downloaded and re-installed TCPMP. It crashed my Axim once when I was trying to load it, but other than that, everything is fine so far. I hope that TCPMP will quite making my Ax crash.
Thanks,
Delta

I can assured you that it is NOT TCPMP that did the crash ... must be another 3rd party software.
also , as the other poster suggested ... make sure you download the right version of TCPMP and its plugins ... inside there is a "README or INSTALL" text file ... make sure you know which file for your device...here's an excerpt:
~~~~~
Which file to use?
First determine which type of processor do you have: ARM, MIPS, SH3
If you don't know, it's most likely ARM.
TCPMP.ARM_CE3.CAB
WinCE 3.xx - 4.xx
Basically all modern PocketPC, PocketPC Phone Edition and HPC
(example for PPC2000,PPC2002,WM2003,WM2003SE)
(Intel XScale is an ARM cpu)
TCPMP.ARM_SP.CAB
All MS Smartphones (for SP2002,WM2003 SP,WM2003SE SP)
TCPMP.ARM720_CE3.CAB
Same as ARM_CE3, just with different ARM CPU identifier for Sigmarion III
(this is NOT for Pocket Loox 720, please use TCPMP.ARM_CE3.CAB for that device)
TCPMP.ARM_CE2.CAB
WinCE 2.xx (for older HPC's and PalmPC devices)
TCPMP.MIPS_CE3.CAB
WinCE 3.xx - 4.xx with MIPS CPU
TCPMP.MIPS_CE2.CAB
WinCE 2.xx with MIPS CPU
TCPMP.SH3_CE3.CAB
WinCE 3.xx - 4.xx with SH3 CPU
TCPMP.SH3_CE2.CAB
WinCE 2.xx with SH3 CPU
I just downloaded the version of TCPMP that you run on your desktop and it picks the right .cab file to use when installing TCPMP.
Thanks,
