IE broadcasting Windows_CE

Is there a way to change what the X51v sends out on it's browser? When I connect to the internet at work, I'v been told that it shows up as a Windows CE Browser. So to make a long story short they can track me very easy. And I don't think they want Pocket PC's connected to the network. I had to stop using the net at work. How can I get around this?

Thanks for any help

I got this off another site. This changes it to Windows XP (Home or Professonal). It helped me disguise my x50's pie as ie6 on xp. You need a registy editor, and make sure its wm2005 compatible.

Quote:
Pocket Internet Explorer pretend to be Internet Explorer 6.0 running on Windows XP.
Many web sites that require encryption do not verify if your browser support high encryption, they just check the browser version.
This registry hack will make Pocket Internet Explorer identifies itself as Internet Explorer 6.0 running on Windows XP, this may let you connect to web site that check the browser version, but it will also prevent web sites that provide Pocket PC specific content to be able to know you're actually using a Pocket PC.

Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\
Change the default value from "Mozilla/2.0" to "Mozilla/4.0".
Change the "Version" value from "MSIE 4.01" to "MSIE 6.0".
Change the "Platform" value from "Windows CE" to "Windows NT 5.1".
Some web sites may even just compare the user agent string, so if this is not enough, browse to the Post Platform\ sub key and delete the "240x320" value (it have no data).

I believe the way that they are seeing what web client is being used if by looking at the access logs of the web server.

I know in IIS it logs the web browser version information from the clients when they connect to IIS as a web server.

Many sites think pocket ie is ie4. They keep saying its outdated and you need to upgrade. It gets annoying. Thats what this hack is for.

Tweaks2K will automate the process so you don't have to hack the registry yourself

I can get to my desktop pc files from my ppc over wi-fi, but how do I get my ppc files from my desktop pc over wi-fi? I know you can do this by using active sync (at least with 2003SE), but I was wondering if you could just map a drive or something.
