hello! thank you for answering my question!
but I tried setup as your instroction, it doen’t work
I set:
ActiveSync/Menu/configure server
Server address: mobile.exchange.mail2web.com
User name: leontancfa_mail2web
Pasword: …my password..
Domain: ad2
Select: email, Calendar, task, contact …
but when I sync with the exchange server, it kept asking me the password again and again, even I input the correct password (I believe). did you find sth that I did wrong? thank you!
My post on the first page of this thread says how to fix this.
"I figured it out. Go to your E-mail Settings in your Control Panel on the Mail2Web site on your PC.
That tells you the name to use to log in.
Mine is BrandenRussell_mail2
No .com at the end."
I use Lotus Notes at work that is totally incompatible with anybody, Pop cable email address at home, and a long time Yahoo personal mail account.
So riddle me this batman, I need this,,,, to do what?
Read this article comparing between email capabilities!
In summary:
1-No need Outlook on your PC host to sync your mai, as well as appointments, Calendar, etc..Now you can sync directly with an Exchange server whenever you are online.
2-Outlook still can be sync'ed with the same Exchange server, either by sync'in with Exchange server (Paid subscription) or your Axim can use ActiveSync to sync back to yor PC
3-Remember how popular Blackberry is?. You are positioned to have the same capability (shortly).. Push mail on the air
4-You can forward your existing email (e.g.Yahoo) to this new Exchange account
5-Your email as well as your PIM information is on an enterprise type server and protected. No risk for PDA, PC crashes and lost of data...
6-You can sync your PIM with several PC's
7-If you have collaborators, they can access your real up to date calendar schedule...when you are away from your office...

Push e-mail from a Domino server would be nice for people using Notes... (like that'll ever happen )

I did it!
after I read the support webpage, I did it!
but it's too funny to find the reason...
please look at the pic below.
there is a "_" after my user name!!!
I ignored it tons of time! Y_Y
thank you for helping, Solsie!
Solsie, could you edit your original instructions to state that only the first 20 characters of your username should be input on the PPC during setup? It would help the majority of people having problems setting this up.

that doesn't seem to always be true though. of course, it wont be any more than the first 20 chars, but it has had some weird spirratic results. IMO the best thing to do would be to actually post the picture the person posted showing you how to see what your username is.
mine was short enough that i have to type the .com at the end of mail2web.
I tried reading through all of this, my PPC says it sucessfully synced with the exhcange server, but what are the settings for the desktop version of outlook. I can't get it to sync what it just decided to sync with the PPC...
See my problem

The free Mail2Web version does not allow to sync from Exchange server to your Outlook. Only from the Exch. Server to your Axim. However, ActiveSync can sync between your Axim and your Outlook.
So this is the working flow:
Exchange server <-----> Axim <-------->Outlook PC
The below does not support with the free version
Exchange server <------>Outlook PC

OK, gotcha, so how do I go about setting it up in activesync? When my PPC is connected, it shows it is synced with the exchange server, but how do I do it without connecting my PPC, or is this not possible?

At one time I had Active Sync working properly with Mail2Web. However, I am now unable to connect to the server when I sync.
I am using ActiveSync 4.5. An error msg is returned on the pda informing me that it cannot connect with current connection settings. I see nothing there that I need to configure. The error on pc says that the server could not be reached and gives a support code of 85002003.
I attempted to follow the directions given in the excellent tutorial found elsewhere in this forum, but.....
When I click on the Active Sync menu, I have only one live choice: Status...
The other options (including options, schedule, configure server, connections, connect via IR and connect via bluetooth) are all grayed out.
Can someone give me a clue? I am using Windows Mobile 5, build 14957.2.3.1.
