Full power off

I already have my power button set to full power off when pressing and holding. Is there any other way to invoke full power off through a shortcut or softkey?

What do you mean by a "Full power off" If you mean just simply turning the ppc off, heres a cool little app that allows you to soft reset, turn off, and cancel:

"Full power off" as in "Full power off"
Not standby, Not soft reset, Not hard reset. :)
Thanks for the link. That will probably do the trick although adding all these little plugins is getting tiresome

What a waste. psShutXP has a "shut down" button but it only puts it in standby.

You cannot full power off the axim. There is a backup battery in it that wont allow this. Also, so that you dont lose everything, the ram needs a constant flow of electricity. The amount I lost in 6 hours of standby was 1.5% so I dont think its that big of a deal.

Actually you can full power it off if you have the x51 but from what I can tell it is a hardware function more than a software one. But since I don't have one i can't really be sure about how it functions. the x50 does not do this and it is one of the few differences between the 50 and 51 and since they both run wm5 that is why I assume it has to do with the hardware.

I have an x51 and had mine set up the same way to full power off. it seems to me that this function is similar to doing a soft reset. You get the blue dell splash screen it clears any unsaved data etc. I don't know of any software that does this but it is possible to do a full shut down. I personally stopped doing it because i found that when shutting it down like that i got annoyed that i couldn't access my stuff as quickly as i could if i had just used standby.

that is correct. when it does a full power down it clears the ram so it has to load stuff back to ram to run again and it takes a bit to get that done. imho it defeats the purpose of the pda which is to get to needed info quickly and not have to wait for a boot up time. but it does save the battery.

I have the x51v which only has 1 battery and has the ability to fully power off if you push and hold the power key. You have to go in to the settings and set it up to do it. I treat it much the same way as my home computer. If I am not going to be using it for the next 8-10 hours I turn it off.(gasp!) :jd: This is my first pc handheld so I am not use to the older versions where you lost everything if you powered off. Its not that big of a deal to push and hold but..... It will probably take a while for the software guys to come up with a hack for it.

You can assign different functions to the buttons, so why couldn't you just assign the full shut down to a button you don't use? I've never never reassigned the function of buttons, but I now a lot of people on here do. Personally, I power my X51 down every few days overnight. I make sure I bring it back up in the morning before I am going to need to use it. I tried psShutXP but I did not like it. I prefer Magic Button. No complete power down function, but great at closing programs! Of course, as with any program on any kind of computer, YYMV. Different strokes for different folks!

How do you power off? The only way I know of is through pushing and holding the power button. In the button assignments screen under settings I can not find anything for full power down.
More info please.

Ditto on that one - you try to get that little app, and you get bombarded with a wack load of pop-ups. Guess it's time to run my adware checker and virus scanner....

For clarification, which Axim model do you own?
