WM5 doesn't work, Can't revert to 2003

When I try to revert to 2003 I get the message, "The system update file cannot be found. Reinstall the system update."

All I can think of is to reinstall the WM5 ROM. But when I try off the CD I'm told it's already installed and can't proceed.

It doesn't even work as a doorstop.

Help, please. Ron

Sorry, I'm having the same type problems that others report on here: fast battery drain, requiring soft reset after being on the charger and other times, hard reset several times. I just want to go back to OS version 2003 which worked very well for me.

I have an Axim x50v and purchased WM5.

Thanks, ron

Are you using the 2003SE degrade file from Dell or the standard 2003SE A05 Rom update file?

Haha....I think it's not a "degrade" but in reality an upgrade!

You can't just load the old ROM into it.
You need the downgrade (or upgrade) utility from Dell.

I got it from Dell so it must be the upgrade/degrade/don't work file. Where does one find the 2003SE A05? Should I try that?

I don't think you can do that

So WM5 doesn't work and I can't go back to 2003. I'm IMPRESSED with Dell support. They're lookin' out for No. 1. (Only). At least I signed the petition and will gladly contribute $ for the lawsuit.

Thanks anyway, guys. Ron
