I really don't care anymore. I've been using my Axim in peace and quiet and it's a lot better in my opinion, than the stress of the anticipation of an update.

The purpose of the petition is for the hope of a speedy resolution to the process . Unlike you, many people still care enough and do something to get what they paid for. There's no additional stress there, people can just sign, sit back, relax and use their axims while waiting for a fix. We somehow have to let Dell know that quite a number of people are aware of these problems.

You bet! Keeping the WM5 CD just like I received it, wrapped!

Why get stressed out if all's well! :approve:

Well, i signed it a week ago. I'm just saying you say it once, nothing gets done, you say it twice, three times, 4 times, still, nothing. Why bother? But I wasnt having any problem except for bluetooth so it wasnt as urgent for me.

Also, I dont think anybody has realized that the x51v was the FIRST PPC released with Windows Mobile 5

Well, there are still people out there with WM5 problems who don't know about the petition and who may want to sign, which by the way is the purpose of this thread. It's not about you. Bluetooth might not be important to you but may be important to other people.

And what makes you think that? The issues are not about the problems with WM5 per se, the issues are about the implementation of WM5 on the X50 and X51 units.

Yah, bluetooth is important to me. Its the reason I have so much other bluetooth stuff, too bad I can't use them.....

Also, if it was first, you think Dell would try and set the bar high so people would buy their prouducts, and not make it so easy for a competitor to come in and swoop up the mark (enter HP stage right) or any body else who has a decent bluetooth stack. It was either Dell or HTC who screwed up but either way, it matters to me. My voice alone might not matter, and thats fine, but numbers talk. There's not much I can do, so I really don't do that much. One of the problems I and others had, I fixed on my own (http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=104322 page 9 or so) so no thanks to dell there. Its just annoying.

Exactly, and this guy knows his bluetooth stuff. He is the first one to make the V710 bluetooth phone to work with the X51, which became a blueprint to make othe bt phones having the same problems work with the X51.

First of all, my point was bluetooth IS important to me, and also, by saying the Ax was the first PPC released with WM5, I didn't mean WM5 has problems, I meant exactly what YOU said. since it is the first, it is going to have the most problems with implementation. Then other companies like HP can learn from Dells mistakes, so can dell (and I wish they would),

I dont disagree with the Petition1!!!!! End of story.

Arrow Falling through the cracks

It's difficult to keep this issue in the forefront. I've been watching this thing since the Aximsite frontpage post, but today I had to use the search function on the forums just to find it. I did not see it on Aximsite, nor in any of the easy to find pages linking to prior frontpage articles/links. It's simply not there, or if it is, it's pretty hard to find.

Keeping this issue alive also has to do with not only the users, but Aximsite. If they don't keep it at the forefront, in the face of new users and those who are not here daily, it will certainly fall through the cracks.

C'mon, this should be a sticky at the top of every X50, X51 forum. Otherwise, all this huffing and puffing will calm down, not because it's okay now........but because it's not being kept in the public's eyes like it should be.

Respectfully.

I don't feel like I need to sign it. I have an X51v and it works well for the most part. After A06, my X51v is not any more twitchy than my X30h was on WM2003se. It seems to me those most interested in voicing their collective displeasure for WM5 are the X50/WM5 upgraders.

I would like to see it stay too.
I hope to receive my Axim this week. At this point I do not have needs for Blue tooth or Fi-Wi. That doesn't mean I don't want them to work. Products should function as advertised! Who knows when I might suddenly require the need for those uses? I want them to work and not have to wait for a fix or a hack from a customer that wants it to work. Hopefully this will put some pressure to have these and other bugs/issues resolved. Microsoft and Dell could easily combine resources to fix these issues. Especially the VGA fix. I paid for VGA and that's what I want. I shouldn't have to hack this product to get it to function as advertised and neither should you. I bought this produce with my eyes open because I found this site first. Others not have had the information and bought theirs expecting it to work out of the box. I can understand their frustration and desire to have it made right. Paul

Veriscum (Verizon) got sued for calling the V710 Bluetooth Enabled. No warnings or disclaimers. Too bad it only supports 2 profiles. DUN and Headset. Dell's X51 is the same way. Just Bluetooth Enabled. No warnings or disclaimers. I don't want to sue any body (I don't even think I can (yah I really am 15)) but that is another angle to think about. You know when you spend money that you have to earn (Believe me, I know the true value of money its hard to earn $400 dollars without having a real job) you buy stuff and expect it to work. And when it was done right the first time, (WM2003SE) you don't expect some moron to screw it up again. I mean come on how much common sense does it take to take something that working fine and not mess with it. The saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Its a favorite saying of mine.

Just my 2 cents.
