i didnt call anyone stupid i said those who complain about there overpriced product could have simply searched for a better deal (not very smart shopping) i could have cleared all this up bye just adding shoping to the end of smart
Well, maybe you didn't intend to sound condescending in your original post, but IMHO it sure came off that way!
You can get a great deal on Ebay, but there's a lot more risk than buying direct from Dell. A lot of people are not comfortable dealing with the potential non delivery/ bait and switch that are all too common with Ebay purchases. They're willing to pay for the assurance that they'll get exactly what they ordered without any fuss. Some go for the lowest price, some prefer a easier more secure purchase. Who's to say which gets the best value?

I paid around $350 for a basic x50v from Dell. Not the best deal, but I still feel like I got my money's worth.
I too, 'bout $350, X50v w/ WM2003 SE.
Very satisfied although I didn't need another gadget! I also have an X50 High,
'bout the same price a year earlier. Didn't need that one either but, I "have to have" the toys! :approve:

Bought my x50 on ebay in Nov for CDN$ 310 complete. And it's not a toy for me, I use mine for all the usual things plus as a diagnostic tool at my work using specialized software.
lol, i paid $0 and had to take out a loan. Your probably wondering how well, i called dell because my x30 speaker sounded like crap, and i told the guy that dell promised if another unit broke you would send a new one not refurbished, because i went through like 9 units referbed, so they tranfered me to customer care and they told me they were sending a new pda, but i had no clue it would be a new x51v, so i thought it would be a x30. My god when i opened the box i freaked i saw a new cradle, case, and X51V!!!! I freaked, i mean i just got a $500 PDA FREE. But to bad i had to ship back m x30, but still dell is great!!WHOA
I think mine came to $600 from dell... Top of the line x51v with extra battery, GPS package with window mount, software. I also bought extended warrenty and the other warrenty in case I got pissed and threw it against the wall... I would get a brand new spanking one no questions.. heh
I paid almost CAD600 including tax for my x51v two weeks ago and now I see a deal on the Dell web they are selling it for 399 + tax... man I feel cheated. Do you think I will get the price difference back if I call Dell complaining about that?
I paid $320US shipped for my x50v. It came with a Innopocket Magnesium case, a dell leather case, and a cheap dell slip case. I'm very happy with my investment, although I was a little ticked when dell was selling the x51v for 324 three days after I got mine. Such is life though..

Give them a call and see what they can do ... or post this over at RFD because someone has probably encountered this situation with Dell.ca before.
All I know is that some of those guys over at RFD are ruthless consumers. If this were to happen to them they would complain first ... or just return the product for full refund and buy it again for the reduced price. They would avoid the restocking fee using various methods like complaining about the x51v issues with wm5 etc ... if a restocking fee is applied, that is.
I paid 323.00 shipped from Ebay for my new X51v when the best price I could find at the time was 399.00 before tax & shipping.
Do I feel cheated? Nope, I've been on the good end as well as the bad when it comes to purchasing electronics. Prices are like the weather in Texas...always changing...
Paid $499 CAD on Feb 22nd after a price drop, and guess what? The price has dropped AGAIN to $424 and that was yesterday. Today it's at $399. I swear these guys must have spies looking into your room and drop the price after you finish the purchase transaction. :hide:
After seeing these price drops, I do think its the end of the line for the Axim. Unless they are getting ready to reveal a new product
