Well, I finally gave-up, I tried all the recommended fixes for WM5 but none of them worked, I went back to Windows Mobile 2003 SE and my X50V is working great. I am so disappointed with Microsoft and Dell, I would rank WM5 up their with Millenium, a true waste of time.
sorry to hear that... I have been lamenting the thought of going back, but I may be heading the way my self. Despite all of the employed fixes, which worked well at first - my x50v has gotten incredibly slow again. I am begining to think that a roll back is basically going to be the only way to get back the full functionality of my ax.
Woe is me, woe is me - I am going to hold out a few days longer and hope that dell hurries :(

I actually used WM5 for about 2 months successfully! When I switched back to WM2003se. I couldn't believe how much more enjoyable my experience was! WM2003se is so much better! Especially Bluetooth!!!. I can sacrafice the slick WM5 GUI and stick with WM2003se!
I dunno about anyone else, but I'm getting to the point where when something works I just stick with it until there's a MAJOR reason to upgrade or change it.
BTW ... welcome to Aximsite. This is a really fine place to "hang out". You won't "go hungry" when it comes to support for your device here.
When I bought my axim, the previous owner had upgraded to WM5 and had only one application on it. It ran flawlessly. Installed journal bar and iLauncher adn it was alll downhill....3 minute bootup times, 20 second of non-response after bootup. 2 second menu lags.....wifi not connecting to my dlink wireless router....soft resets (~7 per day)....I did apply all the fixes but still. I rolled back to 2003se and WOW!!!!
Dell should learn from HP
HX2x90/95 can "upgrade" to WM2003SE (it has backup battery)
I think I got a reason why I jump to HP, because I can install WM2003SE on HX2495, but X51 can't

Like most of the guys on this thread, I bought the WM5 CD and tried it out on my X50v with terrible results. I struggled with it for about 2 weeks, gave up, and down-graded to 2003 SE again. :approve: However, I had used WM5 long enough (even with the associated problems) to begin liking the new OS so I bought a new X51v. Now I have the best of both worlds....2003SE which runs great on my X50v and WM5 which runs great on my X51v. I wonder if Dell planned this whole mess just to sell more X51v's??? :rolling:
