I had a Ipaq 4150 before going to the X51V. My main decision was based on the 'on demand rotating screen' feature, the screen quality, the higher internal memory of 256mb and last but not least the fact that ROM stores all applications, files and data instead of this being contained in RAM. I have stayed with most of the standard applications that came with my X51V so I have not had any application issues. Since updating to ROM A06 (another nice feature being able to upgrade the entire OS) and doing the 'fake server trick' from this site my unit has been issue free for me for the last 2 1/2 months. I use my unit as a Pocket PC first and then a PDA for PIM data. Most of my data inputting is done from my unit not my PC. I carry a large quantity of data on my SD and 8gb CF micro drive. The first three months of having my X51V I admit were a bit of a challenge but my unit is rock solid now.

I would say get the X51V. The new ones with A06 are rock solid. If there are any problems, I'm sure it'll get fixed in a few months time.

Jacket Pocket

For Current owners: I also keep mine on my person at all times, along with ipod, they are too tempting for people to steel. Even when I perform I make sure the sound is off an keep it in my tux pocket.

I had a good experince with ebay, got my 51v new with shipping for 320. I think if you check the history well enough you should be okay, see what sort of items have been sold by the seller in the past, and buy from someone whos comments date a few years back.

I went to go help some friends move. I left it in an unlocked Van.
I guess I am a little too optimistic as to the worlds goodness.
My whole attache(which I just bought)was stolen with my life in it.
Drivers licience, Social security card, Abertsons card
I had already left the scene when I realized it was gone.
At the house my friends were moving into, someone suggested
we go back and look in the carports because people sometimes steal something
stash it and come back for it later.
We drove back to the apartment complex.
My friends were already searching the carports when I got there.
I went to the back of the complex up a small embankment.
Half way up the hill I saw my attache.
All my stuff was litter along the back of the building like someone was
running along while they were going through my stuff.
The long and the short of it is, I got back everything except my
PPC and my two credit cards.
The credit cards were cancelled not even a half hour after I realized my
stuff was missing.

I'm greatfull to even have gotten that much of my stuff back.:approve:

Here's what I did in the event mine is lost or stolen. My "My info" screen says "$100 reward if lost and returned" along with my phone number. The next screen is my password protection. Now if someone were to steal it, they may be apt to just sell it back to me saying they "found it", rather than try to sell it without any accessories and password protected. I can't really see losing it or it getting stolen since I only take it between home and work.....but if I did lose it...I would gladly pay the $100 to get it back.

Stolen?
For the thief, three words: Summary Death Penalty.
Okay, maybe a bit harsh, but it makes our feelings known.
