In order for a x51 to be able to access the internet using wifi, you'd need to have a wifi access point. Some DSL providers now include one on their modems (I know that Qwest and Verizon both have this available in Portland, Oregon). If your DSL modem has an antenna on it, you just need to enable the wifi radio. If it doesn't have one, you'll need to buy a wifi router. Connect your DSL modem to the wan port of the router and then your PC to one of the lan ports. Then follow the router instructions for enabling and securing the wireless portion. I have a Belkin router that I got at WalMart for around $40 and it works great with both my computers and my Axim.
