The strange thing is, you'll have both CF1 and CF2 installed, so if you already upgraded to CF1 SP3, you'll take up closer to 5MB storage RAM total since the old files aren't deleted.

In my case I tried to execute CAB Installer_PPC.ARMV4.CAB which told me that I already had the files installed.

So guess you're right about the 5 megs ....

5 MB isn't that big of a deal. It is the main part of programs all in one thing. So the end programs can be under a MB each instead of being 5MB each.

More programs would use it if more people had it. Right now programmers can only use version 1 which is so very limited.

"5 MB isn't that big of a deal"

I get your point and I partly agree. A good, tested sw library is worth gold in terms of reliability.

My original intention was just to upgrade my WiFiFoFum to the state of art.

It turned out not to be worth while ... at least for me.

My old version of wfff occupies about 600k ...
Net CF1 included !

...and it performs a good job :-)

I feel that upgrading to CF1-SP3 is the best compromise for me for performance vs. RAM usage. It took 1.6 MB storage RAM.

Some programmers are beginning to use CF2, but so far I have not decided their software is worthy of my RAM.

Same thing when it comes to Visual Basic, Macromedia flash, and AppForge. They really suck up the RAM with limited amount of benefit.
