Question Dim backlight @f(time), INSTEAD of OFF

How can this be done?

Full brightness, then goes to lowest dim (instead of OFF) until you tap the screen again. I've seen other devices do this (i.e. cellphones), but never a Pocket PC.

It's really stupid that the only choice is fully OFF, 'cause when you tap the screen to turn the backlight on, you can't see what you're tapping... and may do something unintentional. If the screen was at least a tiny bit lit, I could find a good place to tap.

Maybe I'm missing something, can this be set, or is there a program out there to do this?

I make a straight line across the top right side of the screen to turn the backlight back on. It doesn't do anything adverse that way, becasue there isn't anything to tap up there.

That is not possible with the built in settings.
I don't know about a program to do that.

He isn't looking to turn the backlight off. He says that he doesn't want that.

Yes, half-dimming only, and it will help me find the device in very low lighting, too.

There has GOT to be a program that does this, it's such a simple exectution!

With processor auto and idling, WR-Tools Resinfor reports:

Full bright =216 mA
Lowest bright =121 mA
Full OFF = 90 mA

Lowest brightness still provides almost 50% power reduction without the inconvenience of not being able to see your screen. That's what I'm talking about.
