32.7Mb mystery file

I recently purchased Memmaid because I could not get above 6.46 Mb free memory. I routinely crash because of no storage space. I have everything possible moved to the CF card and have stripped the programs down to the basics. Memmaid says I have a 32.7Mb file in My Documents and I cannot see it with File Explorer. I believe this file is the source of my problems.

Other than a hard reset, does anyone have any idea how to delete this file?

I also welcome any ideas regarding other things that would eating my RAM that Memmaid cannot find.

Thanks to all,

Enganear

This might work. It's an advanced file explorer.

Use the file explorer on your PC to explore the device when it is cradled. Make sure your PC's file settings are set to display hidden files and it should show up so you can delete it from the PC.

Thanks for the freeware tip, it looks like a useful utility.

Unfortunately, it cannot find the 32.7Mb file listed by Memmaid.

I tried this to no avail, but thanks for the tip. I am getting closer to a hard reset by the minute.........

No memory really cripples the device!

How much free memory should an Axim have at startup after a hard reset. I wonder if I might have 32.7Mb of dead RAM.

Have you tried using Gs Finder, it's another nice file explorer that is free, and you can set it through the options to show hidden and system files

even if it doesn't hlpe, it is way better then file explorer

Memmaid does not tell you and Explorer could not see it.

The good news is that searching for the file seems to have eliminated it from memory and now I am suddenly back up to 35Mb Free!!!

Thanks to all who responded.
