SE_vga problem on x51v
Hi i am new to this forum, since i just bought a x51v today
I dont know much about Pocket PC, especially WM5
the first thing i want to do before installing any program is using VGA mode (had a toshiba e740 before and cannot stand the resolution when browsing).
anyway i tried SE_vga first, i copied the .exe file to the PDA and install it there, however after the installation process i cannot see any new software in program window (i assume is like window XP when you install program it will appear in program window right?), so how can i use SE_VGA? or SE_vga will not work in WM5.
second i tried OZvga, that software does not require any installation, i just click on the .exe file and press OZVGA! button and it turn into vga. however keyboard doesn't show, window icon missing, the ok button doesn't show the word "ok". what did i do wrong?
please help me thanks

MvRTrueVGAx51v.zip consists of 2 other zipped files. The help file says Run SdkCerts.cab first Then run MvRTrueVGAx51v.cab. Does run mean extract? because I couldn't find the 2 cab files! Should this be done from PC or PDA?
Thank you for your patience with noobs like me

Extract the 2 cab files from the zip file, and copy the cab files to your device. Run these cab files from the device, and they will install automatically.

I've created a self installing file for you which will make life a bit easier.
Just connect your device and make sure ActiveSync is connected and then run the following exe on your PC:

Cheers

Thank you so much!:)
In the mean time, I would like someone here to share his/her experience using this file. Is your x51v 100% stable in VGA mode? Can i run Opera? Do other built in programs run as well?
Thanks

So far everything works flawlessly on mine. Only issues was right after install and the soft reset. I started PocketPlayer and was asked to re-register it. It had reverted back to shareware mode. But since i put my code back in there have been no issues so far.

I will have to try that...
I loved Nydiots Virtual Display on my ol' iPAQ 4150, it was quite readable set at 480x640 for a 240x320 screen.

This is interesting:exc: ...I installed using the exe file as described. Got the successful installation message and did a soft reboot. However the program doesn't show up anywhere! looked under programs and remove programs and it's not there. I did the installation twice with the same results. Is it possible that my x51v is already running in VGA?
Thanks for any clarifications.

Its not a "program" per se; its a registry hack. Also, I had problems with the exe installing the second CAB too quickly, so i did it manually. You have to install SDKCerts.cab first, and MAKE SURE it finished, other wise MvRTrueVGAx51v.CAB will fail. You will notice a difference right after the boot if you did it right. Everything will be tiny. If you need more help let me know :)
