Car Audio (conecting AXIM to car audio)

My friend has an adapter that on one end connets to this IPOD charging port and the other end plugs into his cigrette lighter and plays his IPOD music flawlessly.

I've tried those 'wireless FM transmitter', mostly poor audio quality.

How can I listen to my AXIM x51v (WM5) via my car speakers? My car stereo is not capable of bluetooth not WIFI.

Thanks

The quality of FM transmitter is not that good...
If you Car Audio system(CD player) has AUX, try to use it!!

If your car has a cassette deck, you could always use one of those 3.5mm-to-fake-cassette-tape adapters. The sound quality is decent, and it's a cheap and easy alternative. You'll still be running off the battery though, so keep a car adapter handy.

If your car audio system has cassette player, get a cassette adapter for about $10.

Hey!

I've used a WIRED FM modulator to transmit audio from Axim to car audio system.

My product is similar to this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/DIGITAL-STEREO-F...QQcmdZViewItem

Car's antenna is connected to the modulator and the modulator's output to the head unit's antenna connector. The audio signal is inserted into the modulator using two RCA connectors, so you need a 3.5mm jack to RCA cable.

I had to place a ground loop isolator between the axim and the modulator to cut off noises that charging the axim through a lighter adapted caused.

With these components the sound quality is :approve: for me. There are no interferences, as the audio signal is transmitted through the antenna's wire and not using the air. I found this the best solution when your head unit hasn't got an AUX input available (most of them I'm afraid) IMHO.

Maybe I can post a diagram if you need it.

i use my x51v as a backup to my ipod in the car.. i use a clarion dx535 deck which has auxillary inputs, so i just have a cable running from behind my dash to the center console... usually goes into the ipod dock but when thae pod runs outta juice i plug it into the axim which i keep a bit of music on... BUT... the sound quality from these things is bloody awful! sounds like someone is messing with the volume or EQ every 10 seconds or so... it's not the fault of my car either, cause it happens with a run the axim on my receiver at home too... not a great audio device

so if you wanna do it the best way is through a head unit that has auxillary in capability..

gibbons, if you're having audio volume problems on your Axim something's wrong with either the recording system you used to download the music onto the Axim or the Axim itself. My Axim's sound quality is as good as any iPod I've ever listened to and it doesn't have volume shifts. I've used the wireless FM transmitter some, but its a major problem in metro areas because its hard to find a clear FM frequency that doesn't pick up some station from somewhere nearby.

You can try GROM adapter if your car is supported. It charges and control Axim like ipod ;)

Go to Best Buy and purchase an FM transmitter that has the entire FM frequency spread rather than the cheap ones with only 4 or so frequencies. I spent about $50 on one of these good ones, and have great sound from my Axim to my FM radio. You just need to find a frequency that is quiet and without inteference.
