Removing Icons from bottom tray?

Anyone know how to remove the icons from the bottom tray or shell tray? I have a bluetooth icon, wireless icon, and mouse and keyboard icon that I would like to hide. Thanks.

The applets that display the icons in the shell tray are located in the Windows\StartUp folder. You can move or delete the applets that display the icons you don't want to show and then soft reset your device for the change to take place.

This doesn't hide them, but it does make it so they don't show up:
In File Explorer:
Windows\Startup\

Move the BTTray.lnk, WirelessIcon.lnk, etc that you don't want to run to another folder (for safe keeping) or delete them.

This makes it so the programs won't run the next time you start up and they won't show up in there. You will still be able to use WiFi and BT, but will need to go through Start | Settings | Connections to get to them.

If the mouse and keyboard were installed by the STowaway drivers, you will have to open up the stowaway configuration applications. YOu will find them in Programs from the Today screen. Onthe first Config page, there is check box for whether or not it appears on the today screen. Uncheck that box and they should go away.

However, if you open any program that places an icon in the tray area it will reappear. Too bad there isn't an option to get rit of the area once and for all!

I actually use iLauncher to display a whole row of shortcuts in that space. Combined with PB5, I have a setup very similar to the famous TodayPlus Hammerskin (See My PDA for screenshots). :)

Hi rbg08 :) Yeah, I actually do the same thing. I've removed all system icons except the WiFi (changed to VGA with the hack) and have iLauncher shortcuts there. Still I'd like the option of getting rit of that area if it were available.

Hello, ya1950. :) I felt the same way at first, but now I've grown to like it. All my old TP skins had a row of shortcuts always displayed. With WM5 & iLauncher, I can at least force them to always display along the bottom of the screen.
