This is causing me to throw the X51v into the wall. (Not really) When I first turn the XPS 400 that we JUST BOUGHT from Dell, the X51v syncs through activesync just fine. If I take it out of the cradle and place it back in, activesyn doesn't see the X51 and won't sync. The weird thing is that when I connect the device, I can double click on the Local Area Connection icon that pops up in the lower right side of the screen and CLEARLY SEE that the X51v IS connected.
Under the general tab of the "Local Area Connection 11 Status" pop up, the section called Connection reflects the status of Connected; Duration time is lapsing; and the speed is 10.0 Mbps.
Yet activesync is not syncing. Oh to be a computer person who understood this stuff. Or at least be able to reflect what I am seeing on my computer onto this note, like others can.
So far I've:
1. Removed the X51v and soft reset the unit -> put it back into the cradle -> NOTHING
2. Left the X51v IN the cradle and turned the power of the X51v off, then turned it back on again. The "connection" chimes, like the computer knows the X51v is there, but Activesync does not start.
3. Turned the whole computer off, then back on again. THAT WORKS but you have to be kidding!

I'm not doing that every time I pull the X51v out of the cradle for any reason at all.
4. Uninstalled and re-installed Activesync about four times (But insamity is clearly looking at me because I don't know what to do differently when I re-install it. The result is that Activesync "sees" the X51v, just like it should. UNTIL I PULL THE X51v our of the cradle. Then, when I replace the X51v into the cradle Activesync doesn't re-connect to the unit.)
Anyone have any ideas? This is getting REALLY OLD and I didn't / don't have these problems with my X3 (Which syncs to a diferent computer, THANK GOD!)
