Gwes.exe
Hi,

I often (daily at least) get an error message stating there was an error in GWES.EXE. I can then choose to send or not to send (Sheakespear 2006?) an error message to Microsoft.
I must sometimes click 3 or 4 times to get rid of the message.
Tried to Google on this, but couldn't find anything related to our wonderful Axim.

Anyone?

Are you using Wisbar Advance at all? Seems to be a known issue with that program.

Either way, go into Settings -> System -> Error Reporting
and disable it, it's pretty much useless anyway.

A virus??? What are the chances of that? Do not do a hard reset!

The GWES error is comming from a program you are running. The idea behind Error Reporting is to help vendors fix software problems. Telling people to turn off Error Reporting may cause delays in fixing the error or the error may never be fixed.

I'm getting the exact same error message.

The only outside programs I've installed are

SimCity 2000
Microsoft Reader
NoteM
Opera Browser
PEPID (EMS)
PDAwin TV Remote
Facelift
Skype (uninstalled but still getting error popup)

If anything on our list correlates, We can try and figure out what it is.

Well, no, I don't think it's a virus, when surfing I did find some info to indicate is has something to do with graphics. Which could be anything...


I am not using Wisbar Advance (don't even know what it is...)
And docsnavely, we're not running any similar programs...

Today I received a new X51v for mine (3 weeks old) can not get over the memory drain issue, no matter the "fake server" trick, and everything else me and the helpdesk have tried.
It'll be interesting to see if the new X51V has the same issue once I restored my data. That will be my cliffhanger for a few days, I won't be able to check before next week...

Have you looked at the error report? It may tell you which program is causing the problem.
