you're not doing something wrong. You arent being fair in your comparison though.
The jornada 560 didnt have a VGA screen., and it ran all of its programs off of RAM. The x51v has to take its programs and load it into the RAM and then execute, AND the VGA screen means higher resolution files for the GUI, means more info to load ALL the time, making for a slower experience. Try running it with the processor at Maximum, you'll see how fast it can get. But, I am not sure what you mean by very slow, so you may be having an issue but im not sure. Try a hard reset and tell me if the problem persists. My old palm which had a 33 mhz dragonball processor went faster than the x51v! (for certain operations) but for things that require more power (a growing number of applications do), there is no contest.

OS is getting much more resource intensive, and persistant storage is a huge downfall for end users. My old palm had either a 16 mhz or 33 mhz processor, 8 mb ram, 2000 emails, and 7.8 mb used out of 8 mb, and ran much faster than any modern pocket pc.

Hehe, thats true. I was using a Palm lifedrive and I almost threw up! The resolution is nowhere near the x51v and its a 4 inch screen on that thing. The lifedrive is huge (sorry for going off on a rant) and extremely slow performing. I think it has absolutely no strong points. Its buggy, annoying and cumbersome to hold. My x51v has an 8 gig drive which I can replace, the lifedrive is so sucky!

Nothing Personal
It might be you! I was just working with my X51v running WM5 and thinking how much FASTER this version of Windows Mobile is compared to WM 2003SE which was running on my old X3i. :approve: WM5 truly seems much smoother and quicker in response to taps and windows opening and I KNOW (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that the new version of Pocket Internet Explorer is much faster! I'm impressed. No offense.
God Bless!
Rick
