Question Can Mail be stored on an SD Card?

Topic title says it all... I have a huge inbox, and I'm thinking it would be a good idea if I stored my messages on an SD card instead of on internal storage.

I can find the option to store attachments on the SD card, but nothing for messages themselves.

hmmm I've never thought about that. Why don't you just delete read messages? My main mailbox is over a year old and the 2000+ messages in my inbox take up about 150 mb and that includes a lot of multimedia-heavy messages I got.

It's a very good question.

I don't use Email on my PDA for the very reason of conserving RAM.

Thanks to anyone with a very good answer!

Unfortunately, it isn't - you can NOT relocate the mail bodies themselves, only the attachments.

If you want to store non-ActiveSync-synced (that is, POP3/IMAP4-downloaded) mail onto your card(s), please read my Mailer Roundup HERE . It answers all your questions (and even more).

You can limit the size of email text through ActiveSync setting. Plus the amount of memory taken up by text is quite small, considering the database is compressed. Managing attachments is the most important part.

Here's some additional tips for getting different things off of your RAM and onto a storage card:
