wm5 upgraded hp4700 has more free ram!

http://www.pdamobiz.com/forum/forum_...373&PN=1&TPN=1

Here's a comparison with my x50v.

Code:
        hp4700 x50v
total: 57.66 49.29
in use: 21.76 22.52
free: 35.90 26.77
Forget the 'in use' row... look at the total! Why does the hp4700 have 8MB more total?

That is very odd, but 58 seems more like what 64mb would be (you know how you buy a 120gb hard drive and its 111gb) then 50... What is dell using that 8mb for? Was there any differences in the 2003se os?

strange the diffrence is probably do to different programing between hp and dell in the way they handle hardware setup.

How is the speed compared to the Axim? Is the HP upgrade more stable than the one we got for our X50v's?

Dell rushed it out buggy as hell and HP took the time hopefully to get it right. I'm sure it's better in every way.

So far it's been better in the sense where there has been 0 white screens of death, the device turns on without reset, and my 50000000 programs are loaded without seeing any slowdown.

From the horses mouth

Why WM5 doesn't accurately display amount of installed RAM: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/...17/494177.aspx

I have 32.5 free RAM, so that is incorrect.

Dell is good in making hardware but not in software.
