which comm port

not sure if this belongs here or in the gps forum but was wondering if there was any way of finding out which comm port was which. any one ever make a list of them. i have 2 different gps mice and can connect them in multiple ways. 1 is the dell gps (pharos) with a charger that attaches from the bottom of the unit, another one is thru the cf port and another is bluetooth and another is usb using my laptop. i use different programs and most want to know the comm port and it takes for ever checking each one so i was wondering if any one ever made a list. i tried doing a search of the forums and turned up nothing. thanks

Sync port on bottom is COM1
CF is COM4
BT is COM7 (usually, it can be set to anything in WM5)

the only comm ports that show on my x51v are 7 and 8 how do you show/identify the others?
