Windows Blind effect? what does your screen show the moment you hit turn it on
I finally got a "good" x51v replacement. Now, I notice that the moment I turn on my Axim, I see "window blind" effect(extremely brief, you won't even notice if you don't pay attention to it). Then, my screen shows up bright and clear. Is the "Window Blind" effect normal. It is kinda hard to explain. I hope you know what I am talking about.
I want to see if it is normal or I might have another defective unit. Other than this, it is working perfectly.
Thanks

Reason: wrong title
No worry. It's just that the device need a few seconds to turn on.

On mine you get a white screen, for a very brief time, then the unit comes on. Its basically the backlight turning on before the device sends video feed to the screen. The backlight is just white without the screen having any feed.

mine is not just white(my old one was). It is white, blue, white, blue, and etc from top to bottom of the screen for a brief time(just like the amount of time of white screen appears). Is it normal? Everything else is fine after that. It happens everytime I turn it on from a standby.
He means a scanline effect where every other line is white and the rest are faded.
It's normal, don't worry about it unless you've having problems with the effect in actual usage (watching video, playing games, etc.).

Thanks. I am no electrician. What causes this to happen? My another Axim didn't do that. Or even other brand of PDA didn't do that either. Do you know why? Other than the scanlines at the beginning, the screen looks great.
Just guessing here, I'm not an electrical engineer, but it seems like something related to how it powers it, it's possible it's kinda like the old dual scan displays where every other line is on a separate relay/circuit or something that is delayed by a split second.
I honestly don't remember if my other axim did it, but it doesn't seem unusual to me, I guess. I would say it's really the least of your worries, considering how infrequently one has to reset the device.
Hi there, thanks again for your answer. It is not just reset, it is everytime I turn it on from standby. So, I called Dell and they said it is defected...again!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, what a luck I have here. Oh well, at least they are sending me a new one...

I get this as well. It started to do this after the last ROM update (A06). So far though I've had no problems with the screen. But I was worried at first.

I don't think A06 would do that. I had A06 on my dead Axim and it was fine without the scanlines. Anyway, I hope yours will be fine in the future as well.
