So how do YOU enter text?

Barring stuff like bluetooth keyboards, what do you guys currently find the best way to enter text into your axim?

My path:
- I first had a palm -> transcriber
- Then I liked the Windows CE thing better
- Then I found out my motor skills are good and tapping on the 'qwerty' keyboard is fastest for me to type emails.

How do you guys enter text the fastest way possible? I mean with transcriber I still write the fastest but if I make one mistake every 3 words I have to go back, try to fix etc etc which brings final writing time down dramatically..

qwerty tapping is ok, but I bought the fitaly keyboard, and once I learned it it is much faster.

I love Calligrapher. With it I can take notes for work and school easily.

I use Block Recognizer (Palm OS-like) primarily and the pop-up Keyboard when I have to. I removed all the other choices with a Tweaks2k2.net option.

Letter Recognizer :approve:

For a long time I used the keyboard. Then I tried the LR one day and found it to be twice as fast. I spent about 30 minutes or so learning how to write some of the letters and after that my WPM is double compared to the keyboard.

Also worth mentioning. The number of errors and typo's did not increase when I started using the LR. My biggest problem with the keyboard was accidentally double tapping a key.

Give the LR a try one day. Look over the help file to see how to write some of the odd letters like: t, f, i, l and r. Those are the ones to remember.

I like using the on screen keyboard. It doesn't bother me one bit.

when i had my palm pda, graffiti 1 was by leaps and bounds my preferred form of inputting text. now with wm5, i'm about middle of the road between on screen keyboard and block recogniser. i chose block recogniser since it's the unpopular choice

uhmmmmm - since when has Transcriber been available on the Palm....

Block recogniser on the PPC is a clone of Graffiti (like on the Palm), but Transcriber is a microsoft product based on the same recognition engine used in Calligrapher and licenced from Paragraph int. - the same company that produced the "cursive" recognition software in the Newton.

Anyway - Transcriber is the way to go for me.

maybe he's referring to graffiti 2 for some reason. btw, block recogniser is a clone of graffiti 1, not 2 (just a tid-bit, you may have already known)

Tengo Thumb. I think your poll should've offered more options.
