I got my stereo headset working with no skipping in WM10 and TCMP and probably any other program. It stopped skipping a couple days ago after a soft reset, but then I got cocky and changed some settings and it started skipping again. Ever since then I've been trying every setting I can think of and I finally figured out what made it stop skipping! The compaction program, filesys that everyone hates!! For some reason, whenever it is running, my headphones don't skip, no matter the bitrate, etc...
I thought it might just be because it boosts the processor to 624mhz, but after trying the different power states it didn't fix the skipping problem when the compaction program was not running. For some reason it only does not skip when this compaction thread is running. I hope this information can be used by someone somehow to fix the skipping problem. Something that changes, activates, or runs when the device is in compaction mode makes the headphone connection stable. I just don't know what it is.
What is this compaction program that you're speaking of? and how do I run it or stop it from running?
I believe it is called filesys.exe and it's main purpose is to compact the ROM. But on x50's with WM5 it uses a lot of the cpu and makes the device slower for approx. 15mins. Someone did create a utility here on aximsite, but I found it was not reliable. And I have no idea why it makes my bluetooth audio skip-free when it is running, I would have guessed that it would have made it skip more.
If you want it to run more often or less often, do a search in the forums for information or to download the utility. Personally I'm going to wait until hopefully someone looks into this with more experience then I have. It isn't one of those things you should play with unless you know what you're doing.
Have a look to the last pages of the Reusing Widcomm stack thread here. You'll find the solution there.
Thank you! :approve: Now it works!!! (after 2 hard resets though... Uhhhhh).
I knew something was missing. The additional Reg file has the missing Comm RAS Book entries and ActiveSync notification settings to activate PPC Activesync component. This is missing from the PlatformV037.reg file... It should be a part of it.
NOW: Activesync, PAN, OBEX File Exchange and DUN over Cell phone work.
BUT: When BT is active, WiFi does not connect. If WiFi was already active, and I turn BT on, WiFi loses routing. As soon as BT is OFF, WiFi is OK again. Any cure (or hidden REG file) for this?
I have that particular headset and I can confirm that I have managed to make it mostly work on my x50v after hacking the stack using some earlier fixes (I posted a thread earlier explaining what I did so just search for A2DP and you'll find it).
The stereo A2DP profile works and the sound is good with the occasional skip. The AVRC profile isn't there on the Axim but I can confirm that when I used the headphone buttons with my XP Desktop (using the Bluetake USB dongle) the AVRC bit did work and I could fast forward, pause and stop my Media Player remotely.
Unfortunately the volume level with is a bit screwed with the Axim using these 'phones in that it starts at a fairly loud level and won't go lower. With XP it works fine so there must be something dodgy with the Axim stack, or just my dodgy hack!
Be warned though, the headset doesn't last long. On one charge I reckon it lasted for 3 hours straight. Probably only worthwhile at the gym...

Read. Curious behavior. I hope we could find a solution.

Thanks for the info Madgambler. Sounds like I should hold off and see what develops.

I had the same problem after hard reset and restore via Spb Backup. Once I Hard Reset again and restored via Dell Utility everything worked OK. I did upgraded to ASync 4.2 however, and deleted/recreated all Partnerships.
Hi, everyone, I installed the 0.37 files and imported the diff0.35-0.37 reg and the coexistance reg. I also upgraded the ActiveSyn to 4.2.
I got Syncronization problem, even though I deleted all the partnerships in PC and PDA. However, the connection between PC and PDA is established, I can explorer PDA files. Tried several times, the Synchronization issue still exists. Why synchronization failed? Any ideas?
