More GPS Problems

I upgraded to v.38 and now my HS820 works perfectly using both mic and audio.

My problem is that now my BT-338 GPS and ONC5 are misbehaving. ONC5 will no longer automatically start up the GPS when the software is started. When you try to set up the BT-338 in ONC5 it tells you that "Your device does not use the Microsoft Bluetooth Manager..." and says you will need to start it manually before using the software. An inconvenience but I can live with this.

However, I cannot pair the BT-338 with my X51v (A06) using Widcomm. It finds a BT-GPS-31D29D instead of the 338. If you try to continue with the setup, it fails at the end when it tests the connection.

Any ideas?

Do you have a timeline on the next release that will include a full installable / uninstallable cab, which will allow the restoration of MS stack if needed without hard resetting?

Great job guys, Thanks :approve:

khowie,

I also run a BT-338 and mine never did show BT-338 as a device name using either V.38 or the original MS stack. I get a similiar number like yours
(BT-GPS-31D29D) . I have to manually click on the BT GPS device in my BT manager to get my program to see the GPS. Otherwise it works great. I run Iguidance.

S-man,

Thanks for the tip. It caused me to go over the whole GPS config starting with Settings > System > GPS where I had not set the program port and turned on Manage GPS automatically. I reconfigured the GPS in ONC5 and now everything works just as it did under the Microsoft Bluetooth stack. It even starts the connection automatically when I open ONC5. The only difference is the name of the device in the Bluetooth manager and I don't care what it is called as long as it works.

Thanks! :approve:

Dell changed bluetooth on me! Help

I recently purchased a Axim V51v and one of its functions was to dial my Razr. After hours of trying to make it work, I called Dell. They said "sorry, we are now using u'softs bluetooth stack and it won't work with your Razr (yet). Any work arounds? I know u'soft is not helpfull.

Home icon

It works! Thanks for your great job! After installing the widcomm BT stack I can play a lots of BT things now. However, in the home page of my x51v, the original BT icon disappear (blank) and when I touched the icon anyway, it shows ''The file BT connmanagerCE cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trust certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file."

Firstly, thanks for your hard working in getting this to us! :approve:

I have an x51V A06 with v0.38 of the BT stack.

I have been able to get it working with the Logitech BT Headset but I'm having audio quality issues. I get tapping sounds at random intervals. This is even when no audio is being sent/received (i.e. even if I'm not playing or recording). I don't get this when this headset is paired with mobile phone or PC.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you uninstall windows BT stack ?

Read again the .txt tutorial to install widcomm stack, the answer is inside.

Question

I am a little confused by this thread and the alternative "Reusing WM2003SE Widcomm BT stack extracted from dumped ROM image - anyone tried?"

Is this thread (as stated in the original post) a replacement or do we have two parallel ones to add to the fun

Anyway the real question is, is ALL of this applicable to the X50V including the wireless key - the filename for this is WirelessX51.exe which is a bit working. I am quite happy to brick my X50V (well I'm not really ) if I have tried something that should work but using an executable with X51 in its name on an X50 when I shouldnt would be a bit annoying :headshake

Well, this thread was originally created to post things related to the development itself and to maintain the status updated, but now we are using both threads just in the same way.:)

I think everything should work OK on X50v WM5, including the wireless key app.

Uninstall MS BT Stack

Yes. I've uninstalled the MS BT Stack as per the instruction. But I am not sure I did it correct when dealing with the registry. For example the instruction said: Delete all the values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BTControl. I cannot u'stand how to to it so I just go inside each items to either delete the text or change the nbrs into zero.

I think their should be a "For Dummies" instruction set... although I guess if we can`t follow the originals very well we shouldn`t be messing with it :)
