Widcomm for Axim x50v and x51v. State of the development

I have the same problem with connecting the dell navigation software, and I went in and looked at the registry keys, ... and the com port was already correct, it seems like the dell software doesn't use that value. I have tried a number of other gps programs, and all of them connect fine, I really wish it would just let me tell it what port... sorry I don't have any answers for you, I hope somebody wiser than us grabs on to this thread to help us out.

When i do a soft-reset the new key disappear....

The same happened to some other keys during my testing but this one stays. Did you copy the whole key? I used Resco Explorer. First step was copying the whole key from HID and pasting it to AV. Then I copied in the attribute LoadPath in the same way to the new key and replaced the old attribute. Softreset and everything was fine.

I attached my REG-Key to this posting.

I had the same problem with my Verizon phone and if I remember right I forced it to be a modem using bluetooth manager and selecting connect to internet via phone

The problems of registry losing changes has been discussed quite a lot of times during the project. The problem is the changes need to be flushed to flash memory to make them permanent. When you change anything with the registry editor, the changes are only in RAM and they are lost if you soft reset inmediatly.

To avoid this behavior, suspend the Axim using the power button and keep it suspended for 10 or 20 seconds after having changed the registry. After that, soft-reset.

I have an Axim X51v with WM5 and have version 0.50.

I have noticed that whenever I SR, the Wifi icon in the top of the screen shows as if Wifi is turned on.

If I go to Start-Settings-Connections and activate the Dell WLan Utility, the Turn On/Off button shows that Wifi is off.

But if I press the button to turn Wifi on, and then immediately press it gain to turn it off, the Wifi icon in the top of the scren goes off as well.

If I press once the record button on my X51V, both icons (Wifi & BT) show grey boxes, meaning that they're off.

What could be causing this problem?

Do I need to reinstall version 0.50 again, and if so, how do I do it? (ie, do I need to uninstall it 1st and then reinstall?)

I have had the same problem with the WIFI icon at the top of the screen but I had that on mine before installing the upgrade

As for your record button that I have never had that I noticed

I use GPS Proxy and Garmin IQUE on my Axim x51v.Please help. When I install Widcomm on my Axim.Gps proxy still get sittelites.But IQue losses satellites very often.

I decided to compare this occurrence with the ms stack (did a hard reset). GPSProxy consistently tracks sattelites with both stacks but IQue tends to disconnect a lot more often with the hacked widcomm stack than the ms stack. Went back and forth between widcomm and ms to get consistent results. Anyone got an idea of what's happening. I love the widcomm stack and never want to go back to the ms stack. Pls. help.

First of all -- kudos on all the crazy hard work. Truly an awesome job, folks ^_^ I can't wait to get my BT dongle and use it with DUN and BT sync. The brand of the dongle shouldn't really matter, should it? I'm getting a generic one..

Anyway, I have two questions about your latest 0.50 version:

1) Are there going to be any improvements on speed? I don't know a whole lot about BT -- but I'm guessing it has to do with the file transfer profile -- but my k750 used to transfer 237 kb in about 20 seconds. Now it's about 40-45. Is anyone else noticing a slowdown?

2) Would it be possible to get a one-button press to accept all incoming files at once? That is -- if I send 5 pictures to the phone, is it easy enough to adapt a "save all" button once they're all transferred? Or if not that -- then is it possible to configure the OBEX shortcut on the Axim BT manager to be able to highlight multiple files to get from a device?

3) Any tips on how I can set-up my remote control connection with my k750 and Widcomm Axim? I used it as a controller for pocketplayer while the Axim is tucked in its case. MS Stack was easy enough -- I just paired the devices and selected "input device" as one of the partnershpi settings on the Axim. Now I have no idea how to pair the two.

I really hope these don't sound like complaints. I'm incredibly impressed by all that is available with this widcomm stack! I'm very, very grateful for the work everyone's put in. If I have to trade a bit of speed for the magic of widcomm -- so be it! Just wondering if I can get the best of both worlds here

edit --> spent 5 hours last night trying every service on the Axim to pair with my k750 to see it as an input device like on the MS stack. When I check my k750's services using Widcomm it shows that my phone offers 'keyboard and mouse' but whenever I try to set it up the Axim never sees my phone.

I have two problems with my Bluetake iPhono mini.

Well, firstly, great work everyone, it's awesome. Although I wish something could be done about the lag on loading the Bluetooth Manager... Anyways, great work.

Now, my problems. The iPhono mini supports AVRCP and even has an integrated microphone so it can work as a headset for a BT-enabled cellphone and stereo earphones for an MP3 player at the same time (it can even switch automatically to the call and pause the music...) Anyway, when I try to connect it to my X51v as a "headset," I get a loud, high-pitched sound from the headphones and the light blinks rapidly red and blue alternately. I would like to be able to use the earphones for Skype, as well as voice recording. Also it has the capability to control the audio source; I would like to be able to use this as well. Now, onto my second problem:

Playing video in TCPMP, over time, about 30 seconds, the audio begins to lag behind the video. It gets worse. But if I pause TCPMP and start again, the audio and video are synchronized. I have it set to 480Kbps, and am using the latest version. Any help?

I don't know. Sorry. But, I don't think it has something to do with the Widcomm drivers or the WirelessPower tool. It's strange the top icon and the real status (shown in the Dell WLAN Utility) don't match. The WirelessPower tool only interacts with WiFi or BT when run. And it seems the status shown by the tool matches with the WLAN Utility one, doesn't it? It seems the only problem is the top icon is showing the wrong status.

Pgsmith said he had the same problem before installing Widcomm.... I'm afraid I cannot help this time
