I installed the Broadcom BT stack and the speed switcher, did a soft reset and get this message...
'BTTrayCE' is not a valid Pocket PC application.
Which means there is no BT icon in the sys tray. How do I turn on BT and pair with my headphones?

This is not for wm2003se. You need to use the hp 1.6 upgrade or the pda2k bluetooth upgrade. If you search the site you should be able to find it. I'm using my axim so I can't grab the link easily. MyPDA still the correct link in it, even though I now have an x51v. Also search some of the older links about BT headphones, they have some good troubleshooting information.
Good Luck

I just want to mention a small problem I had with Widcomm bluetooth.
I have a Freedom input bluetooth keybord (version I that don't use the HID profile) and if I installed the drivers and choose x51v the drivers doesn't works because they expect MS Bluetooth stack, but if I choose x50v as model, correct drivers for the widcomm is installed and the keyboard works again.

Just installed the Widcom stack and it's working like a breeze without any glitch. Many thanks to all the contributors of this awesome project and to mikelspikel in particular.
The only thing which now seems to be different is longer loading time after soft reset. Did anyone notice that?

well after messing with it all weekend, I just don't think the x51v is capable of streaming A2DP with decent quality. With a decent amp, you can hear crackling, dropouts, and digital noise. It sounded fine through headphones, and the BT receiver worked great with my laptop and produced great-sounding results, so it wasn't a problem with the reciever.
Although the x51v is probably one of the best (and only) standalone PDA's still being produced, it still doesn't seem to have the power to stream A2DP audio at any reasonable quality.
This is probably why Dell disabled this capability.
However, the Widcom BT stack works great!
guess its back to audio cable for me

Becuase of this I was unable to rename serial8 to serial6. Am using Resco Registry plug-in.

RESET.
serial6 has now gone, so I applied the changes as directed. I am now left with an empty serial8 regkey that I cannot delete - is this normal?
Did a full power off via the power button, and a soft reset using the hole on the back of the axim.
And............
"Failed to disable RNDIS"
What did I do wrong?

It is normal that now you got a empty serial 8.
Also I've found that I forgot a value in:
[HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial8]
rename to [HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial6] and change these subkeys acordingly
"FriendlyName"="Bluetooth Serial Port COM6:"
"DeviceArrayIndex"=dword:00000006
"Index"=dword:00000006
When you have changed this, suspend (off) the PDA for a few seconds and turn it on again. Then goto Bluetooth Settings- Services-Serial Port-Advanced and verify that thet ports that Widcomm is using are 6 & 7
I've just done it and I have changed the USB to PC RNDIS mode sucesfully

Dialing Contacts via Bluetooth
Can anyone tell me or point me to the thread that explains how to dial contacts via bluetooth through your cell phone? I have read where people say they can do it but they fail to explain HOW to do it. The Widcomm stack is the best software I have added to date to my Axim.
My System Specs:
X51v
Widocom BT Stack
A12
Phone: Moto E815 (verizon) firmware 1.1E.00
I have "tweaked" my phone so that I can DUN. I was wondering if trying to dial contacts through my Axim is a phone issue or an Axim issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth dialing apparently can't be done with Verizon phones. Verizon has crippled Bluetooth on their phones to the extent that it was useless for me. I was with them a total of 8 days before switching back to Cingular.

Thanks for getting responding so quickly. Alas it seems big brother verizon has once again flexed its mega corporate muscles at the expense of the end users. I wish I was within my 30 day grace period or I would dump them without second thought.

First, as a person who just got his Axim a month ago and discovered the weakness of his x51v's bluetooth a week ago, thank you to the genius is behind this project! I've got it running great. Working with my Touch BTH750 headset perfectly!
I've got a simple question :). How does the wireless power app work? I mean I have configured it and it pops up when I click the wireless button but I have no idea how to control it.
I see two columns: one with a Wifi icon and the other with a bluetooth icon. Under those are two rectangles. It seems they color in randomly depending on how many times I press the wireless button and my bluetooth and wifi turn on and off randomly as well. I am sure that there must be a sequence of button press to contol different things but I am at a loss at to what it is. Is there a keymap that tells one, say, 1 press=bt on and wifi off, 2 presses=wifi on and bt off, etc? Thanks for any help on this!

It is just a toggle mechanism. The top rectangle shows the currenct state. that means if it is green under wi-fi, that means wi-fi is already on. the bottom rectangle is the desired state. that means, if u want to turn wi-fi off, u need to keep pressing the button until the bottom rectangle is not green. same for bluetooth.

Thanks alot! That clears alot up! Is there an order for the button presses? What I mean is, say wifi and bluetooth are both on. If I press the button once will it turn off wifi or bluetooth? I guess I am asking which wireless service has button priority? Thanks again!

The behavior of the utility is configurable using the WirelessPowerConfig tool. Have it a look. You have options to change both the appearance and the behavior. There are two switching modes available: direct and cyclic. In both of them, the first keypress shows the wirelessPower window. After that, in direct mode, one keypress toggles BT or WiFi (it's cofigurable too) and two the other one. In cyclic mode, you can press the button as many times as you want. The desired state (bottom indicators) changes cyclically. When you have the correct state selected, just wait 5 seconds (configurable) and it will be applied.
