Hi Mikelspikel,

thanks for all your great work. It is much appreciated by all of us ;)

A question to anyone out there that uses tom tom navigator 5.21 GPS with a bluetooth GPS receiver.

I can connect to the Bluetooth GPS receiver through the wildcomm stack no problems.

BUT I CAN NOT GET TOM TOM TO CONNECT TO A GPS RECEIVER. I have tried using wired, different comm ports on bluetooth etc.

Has anyone else had issues in getting it to connect through TomTom and if you have how did you resolve these?

Thanks,

Ralfmuller

For example it has a system tray icon to launch it. Maybe we can include it too.
I think it must be optional: I use TodayWarrior to manage BT and WIFI from Today, and don't want any resident programs that I don't need. Now WirelessPower doesn't use memory until the button is pressed and only for a few seconds...

I use the same configuration without problems. I select "Other BT GPS" and then "Bluetooth Serial Port COM7" or "Bluetooth Serial Port COM8". It works without problems. I have also disabled "Manage GPS automatically" under Axim's GPS settings.

It's OK for me. If someone wants the new version it can be upgraded after the installation of widcomm with the cab from this thread.

I'll answer you to Q3:
What does the "patchDUN.reg" file do? (is it necessary?)
No It isn't: It was a patch for a previous version. It is already included on V0.50

What does the "Aximsite_WirelessPower.cab" file do? (is it necessary?)
No It isn't: But is a improvement for the Wireless switcher you run from the wireles button. It is already included on V0.50

What does the "BTSpeedSwitcher.exe" file do? (is it necessary?)
No It isn't: It is only necessary for A2DP audio profile to work withouth hangs. Use it to slow down BT connection and the hangs dissapears.

Sorry, I didn't see it. But anyway I don't know the answers to the first two questions.

Dont know if this is even right but it may help somone, I jumped right to stage 3 foolsihly failing to properly read the "back up and prepare" section of the Install.txt file.

Everything seemed fine but then had a few probs later when I installed my tom tom and the bluetooth driver failed. I also could not uninstall it properly. I manually removed the BT stack and then saw what the setsecurity.exe, I installed this then tried again, this time the BT stack removed it self as it should do and I have now re-installed it with no problems! tomtom works again!

Dell GPS and widcomm stack

Does Dell GPS work with widcomm BT stack? Everything, BT headset, activesync etc work fine with widcomm stack but I cann't get my Dell GPS to work with widcomm stack. I can create the pair but when I start Dell GPS software, it just cannot find the gps device...

Any help will be appreciated.

Update & Clean Up - much appreciated.

Can this post be updated to sept 06 and cleaned up by removing old patches that are not needed any longer and start with a simple preface that says in plain english what the update does, how safe it is and who should consider it and who should avoid it.

Also, mention is there an uninstall / hard reset / backup restore if things go sour to go back to the dell factory update.

Also, can the order be reversed so it sorts from newist back to oldest so new folks to the post see current info instead of a baffling trail of developments.

Thanks!

Have a look to this post and the following ones. We tried to solve it but noone has reported to have it working. Maybe you can try. Don't forget to power the Axim off (suspend) for 20 or 30 seconds using the power button as usual before you soft reset, in order to let the system write the registry changes to flash memory.

Hi,

I wish to inquire if anyone has used the a2dp function widcomm stack on x51v and the HBH-DS970 which has multi-point capabilities

Is the skipping significant and is there also hissing sounds?

Also, can the widcomm stack resume playback smoothly after a call from a BT phone?

Thanks

I have my X51V paired with a LG VX8100 and the program dials to the phone, but the phone hangs up after 2 to 5 seconds. Is there any chance to get this to work with SPB's software? The only other question is why when in the contacts screen that the choices of send and dial via bluetooth at the top and the bottom of the menu. Any help otherwise works flawlessly.
