Mikelspikel, I PMed you this, but I thought I'd post it here too.
My Specs: X51v with A06, widcomm stack 0.35 upgraded to 0.36, Logitech Bluetooth Headphones.
My A2DP works now without any skipping. However, there is some noise and occasional clicking sound in the audio. If I had to compare it with something, I'd say it sounds like the artifacts and quality loss you get with heavy compression. However, it isn't quite like compression artifacts, because some instruments and parts of songs come through more clearly than others, and some instruments sound perfect with absolutely no quality loss or artifacts.
Is it possible that the quality issue is due to frequency limiting, because it sounds like it only affects certain frequencies?
It is bearable though and I am very pleased with the result!
Thanks to everyone involved in the development, you have all done amazing work and it is really appreciated.
can you step me through the widcom process? i followed the instructions but i keep getting a error message on startup. the bttrayce.exe
First off, let me say congratulations! You've done it again. I can confirm that bluetooth speed is greatly improved. Although I have no way of measuring the exact throughput, files transfer quite noticably faster. You have officially destroyed any last reason I had to stay with the MS stack.
Unfortunately, I still cannot get my audio profiles to work. I have a Motorola HT820 which supports HSP and A2DP. HSP connects and I can hear a high-pitched whine and the occasional pop on the headphones (indicating a connection has been made) but audio still plays over the axim speaker and not on the headphones. A2DP doesn't connect at all, it just has an error. This is unchanged from before I installed the speed patch. And yes, the devices are paired properly.
Anyways, I know this is not a final solution but it is a BIG step towards it. If you guys are able to make this much progress in your spare time, it makes me wonder what the hell Dell is doing. Again, thank you very much and keep up the good work!
I had some pairing issues with my logitech headphones a while back. I am not sure whether I accidently entered the wrong passphrase or not, but in the mean time, I went to the audio gateway settings in bluetooth settings and unchecked everything except Enable service. I also disabled encryption when I paired the headphones.
Again, I doubt that did anything because I suspect my issue was because my fat fingers hit the wrong thing on the onscreen keyboard :)

Thanks for your suggestions, but I have tried toggling authentification, authorization, and encryption settings in every combination imaginable without success. When I try to connect A2DP, it fails immediately. It seems to me like it does not even have enough time to attempt transmitting something to the headphones and fails before getting to that point (hopefully that helps in your diagnosing the problem).
ok i have version 1.7 working with .35 if i use .36 i just get error messages. well i cant get my headphones or my keyboard to pair with the widcomm stack. help?
I've solved the problem that caused WiFi not connecting when BT had been previously turned ON. I'm sending the information to Beemer to be included in the next release.
I think someone who has managed to get their headphones working before but heard the helicopter noise should be the ones to try this. If that works then we can develop a list of known working headsets.
A clarification here: some of us have both a headset and stereo headphones in one device. It is the Hands-free/Headset profile that I and others got the helicopter noise. Hands-free/Headset profile is what you use with standard mono cellphone BT headsets which have a microphone and speaker. High Quality Audio profle is what you use with BT stereo headphones that support A2DP (and usually AVRCP). My Plantronics 590s support both types of access but as of yet, neither are usuable with my x51v.
Nemattoad: could you post or send me a registry dump of your Axim? I have to suspect something changed in yours that allows your headphones to connect.
Hey nemattoad,
what program did you use to export? When I was looking through it I modified it, and was fixing to import, but it said it was not a valid registry export. So I thought I just screwed it up, and went to import straight from your dump, and says same thing.
Any thoughts?
I'm using Resco Registry.

Addition who needs that kind of stuff any way huh?

I used PHM RegEdit and exported it as a WinCE Registration File, it also has Win Regedit 4 and Win Regedit 5 as export options. Let me know if you want one of those.

Reading some posts talking about how large Menneisyys' thread is becoming, Beemer and me have agreed about starting this new one. It's already difficult to know how the developing process is going, what is each one working on, files required and so on due to the large amount of posts in Menneisyys' thread.
Let's try to keep this one as short as possible in order to have a quick reference about the x51v and x50v WM5 Widcomm BT Project.
Let's start with a summary of current state:
There are two major versions at this time:
Version 2. Based on Widcomm 1.5.200 which can be downloaded here. A DUN patch is necessary for this version. Get it from here.
Version 3. Based on Widcomm 1.7.100. Download it here.
Both versions have more or less the same profiles working. Unfortunately, we don't have all the necessary components of version 1.7 and, for example, the icons in this version have disappeared.
Functionalities working are:
- DUN
- PAN
- OBEX
- ActiveSync via BT
- Serial
- Keyboard
Not working:
- Audio profiles
- Other profiles go at low speed (115200bps)
We are working on sound profiles and low speed problem, which are related, as it's not possible to use A2DP with this low bandwidth.
Things we are looking for at this moment:
Files dumped from ROMs of X50, X50 WM5, Acer 311, HX4700 WM5 or any XDA with WM5 and Widcomm stack.
Some exhaustive knowledge about x51v hardware, just to know whether audio for HFP and HSP can be transmitted directly to the PCM input of the chip or an SCO driver is neccessary.
Any news or progress made will be posted here, as well as on Menneisyys'. Anyone working on this please let us know what you are working on, what you think the solutions for the problems we currently have could be or any other idea useful for the development.
Thank you.
damn! you guys deserved 10 out of 10 stars and what on earth are the dell's programmers doin so far?? for so long??? not even a tiny fix from them!
