Lost My Manuals and Discs for x50V - Help!

Hi -

I've lost all my manuals and installation disc for my x50v and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get replacements? Dell Support was of little help.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

You can get Activesync 3.8 (or 4.1 if you're running WM5) free from Microsoft. Outlook must be purchased.

Welcome to Aximsite, BTW!

The only thing you might have a problem getting is Microsoft Outlook and the 3D games pack if you had that. Other than that your manual now is Aximsite.com (Better than any manual dell can give you.) ActiveSync is available for download from just about anywhere.

Thanks Gigi!

I'm new to the PDA world and was wondering what apps you would recommend; my main use for the PDA is to keep contacts organized and stay connected while I'm out on the road.:)

If you have a X51V I would do an upgrade to ROM A06 if your unit is below that level. Then I would look up the 'Sticky Note' on this site about 'missing SD and CF cards' and follow the instructions there. After doing these two things my unit has had zero issues for the last 4 months. I would use MagicButton in place of the supplied application Switch Bar. MagicButton is a free application and its a bit more functional than what you get with your unit. To make life simple I use mobile excel and word for most of my data that is not PIM based. I also use TCPMP (a movie viewer) which is also a free download. I store additional information in PDF files for which there is a mobile pdf reader from adobe.

PocketInformant is also great to replace the weak PIM that comes with WM5.

I use Pocket Informant as well and recommend it if you are looking for more customization options. I would give it as well as its main competitor, Agenda Fusion a try to see which you prefer. In terms of keeping connected on the road, you can try to access public hotspots or connect to your cell phone to access the Internet, etc.
