Battery compartment error message
I haven't posted here in a while because I haven't needed to. After the initial work-in period we all go through my X50 has been huming right along until the past few weeks. Lately I've been getting frequent battery compartment warning messages. I'm talking about the message that you sometimes get if you turn you axim on without locking the battery compartment. The problem is that the compartment is securely locked and often hasn't been opened in a day or two when this message comes up. I also notice that the battery has been running down unusually fast lately as well.

I did a search but didn't come up with any posts on this topic. Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this?

Same here
I´ve been having the same problem with mine ( x51v ) since past friday ( except for the battery drain )....... i just couldnt do anything to stop that damn message, today i tried to secure the lock with some kind of rubber to stop the lock from sliding back.......so far it seems to work.....i really dont know why i started to get that message........the only thing i know is that is extremely annoying and i was going crazy because my axim suddenly turned off several times because of that problem.

The solution that worked for me (and some other users) was to add a small bit of tape to the post on the underside of the door (the one on the right as the door is laying flat with the posts sticking up). This post depresses a small switch inside the Axim that tells the device that the door is in place.

I used masking tape, I believe others have used duct tape. I think it needs to be something thicker than scotch tape.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try Ikehiker's recommendation. The lock button doesn't seem to be the problem since its always in the correcdt position, but maybe the post isn't pressing down enough on the sensor. I'll let you know if it solves the problem

Just to add another user to this issue, mine has been doing the same. It's worse if I walk around a lot with the Axim on my belt clip. I'll try the masking tape trick.
