A contest to solve filesys.exe problem?

Hi everyone,

After reading the rather successful contest for implementing Widcomm on WM5 Axims, I think that maybe we can solve the filesys.exe problem on WM5 x50v with another contest like that one. I know Shsmith already written a patch for the problem, but the system still feels sluggish sometime. Also, further improvements of the patch has stopped long time ago due to the stolen x50v. Anyway, I know it will be a lot harder than the Widcomm project. THough, nothing is impossible for this great community, right?? So, what do you guys think?

Regards,
Patrick

Its just not practical for this specific problem. There may very well be no sufficient fix -- we're talking about changing something that Microsoft originally added to the OS to prevent premature device failure. The fact reamains that the x50 isn't well suited to running WM5, and no amount of hacking/tweaking is going to change that enough to satisfy the userbase.

The best advice is still to just enjoy WM2003 and leave the WM5 headache behind.

yeah, though I think someone can still enhance and improve shsmith patch. BTW, aren't you staying with WM5 yourself? ;)
