leaving on trip in few hours - AXIM WON'T TURN ON
ok, this is bad. I'm leaving on a ski trip today for a week, and my Axim won't turn on. it was working fine this morning, then all of a sudden froze up. I soft-reset it and it went to the dell loading screen. now it keeps hanging up on the wisbar loading. I left it alone for 10 minutes and it still hangs there. worst part - I didn't make a backup . I won't loose any data by hard-resetting it, but I don't have much time to load all my programs onto it... I tried taking changing the battery, still does the same thing...
I need some quick help. is there anything I can do before I hard-reset it?
thanks

Since your x51v stores data and apps in persistent memory, you shouldn't have to worry about our device losing data if the battery is removed. I would remove the battery and let your device sit for about 30 mins, then put the battery back in and try charging it from your AC adapter. I've found that even if I think the battery is fully charged it may not have enough charge to activate my Axim.
Good luck, and don't forget to do backups in the future!

Well, that rules out that problem.
Are you doing the reset with the storage cards out? It seems like a one-in-a-million chance this could cause trouble, but just to be sure...

hahaha, I saw this post after I had fixed it, but that WAS the cause of the problem. after I did the reset it kept freezing, finally I decided to take out the cards, and it worked!! I put all my programs back on, and already bought SPB Backup and backed it up:approve:

Well, I'm glad to hear your problem is fixed. Hope you enjoy that trip you're leaving on, and try to find a wi-fi connection so you can talk to us while you're there! ;)

well... just got there! posting this from wifi. the connection in our room is pretty weak, but at least it works, right?
ericem, nah, didn't need it for gps. I need it for work (email and such, I don't have a laptop) and for entertainment purposes (music, movies, etc).
thanks for the concern guys, I'm REALLY happy I got it working.
