Curious bluetooth question (x51v).

Was curious...

Is it possible to play music that is on my desktop via bluetooth from my Axim?

Would be nice since I don't have any wireless access here at work. Will soon though.

I seriously doubt this works but I searched around and couldn't really find anyone else posting about this.

Eh?

You need bluetooth networking in order to do that. With the crippled microsoft stack it is not possible. I was able to make bluetooth networking work when I installed the widcomm stack with the X51V, thanks to the guys that made it possible (I'm not referring to guys @ Dell)

Install the Widcomm stack; please see http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=114983 for more info. Then, just use the BT PAN as described in my BT PAN-related articles.

Please note that the (currently) reduced maximal throughput of the BT stack may result in problems with MP3's encoded at faster speeds than, say, 96 kbps.

Good to hear those guys are making some solid ground on that project. Can't wait until they get it working seemlessly. However, I've been reluctant to try out the Widcomm stack the guys have been working on because I don't want to loose the connections I have now (my RAZR and my PC) they work great. I've read that some people have some weirdness with their previous connections that used to work after installing the Widcomm.

I also figured that the throughput could be an issue. Again, was curious.

Anyway, thanks for the post guys.

Good luck with that project, btw.
