FTP question

Through my work, I access a site that starts out ftp://ftp.*******.com/ and i am able to copy files from there. I access it through Microsoft Internet Explorer. When I try this with my x50v through internet explorer it says "The page you are looking for cannot be found.". Can I not do this with my axim or do I need some other software?

Thanks,

Clif

No, you need a separate FTP compatible program. Try looking for Resco File Explorer or Advanced Explorer. They both support FTP. You can also google for a PocketPC FTP client. The pocket version of Internet Explorer is crippled to say the least. The desktop version actually runs a FTP client in the background and outputs the FTP in the explorer window. (May not be true exactly, but that's the best way to think of it)

I thought I read on here that TotalCommander would work for this. Does anyone know?

I can now get into the computer but can't seem to see anything. I says I'm connected. Any suggestions?

Are you in a particular directory? Are there subdirectories that you can open? I forgot about Total Commander. It's a great free program.

There are only certain directories that I am allowed to view on the server with my desktop. When it says I'm connected to the server the screen is blank - no directories - it is there on the desktop but not the axim. I'm sure I have something setup wrong. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have a login/privelege issue. Are you using the correct login and domain settings?
