If think the best way to use it off-line is to save the html and your keyboard.swf in a directory. Create a link to the html page and assign it to a button. Because it's better to use it with PIE full screen, is it possible to create a flash button to switch PIE fullscreen ON/OFF, and another button to minimize PIE so it will be easy to access an other program (pocket word) to paste the text from your keyboard?

Full Screen Keyboard

I designed a homepage of sorts for the keyboard.
It is supposed to be PDA browser friendly. :approve:

You can now download ZIP files to easily place the keyboard on your PDA for use anywhere.

Help screen added to the menu screen on the keyboard. I made the WM2003SE version a little wider. Let me know if this is too wide for your screen if you use that or an older O/S.

I also set the quality on the display to "High" since I don't think that impacts the keyboard usage, but it does affect the readability of the text.

I think this program is great, I just discovered it last night. However, if i could make one suggestion it would be to make it easier to get out of full screen mode. The software is easy to use typing with my thumbs, but to get it out of full screen in IE I need to then take out my stylus and tap at the very edge to get out of full screen mode. If you could make a more open area to tap so i could just use my thumb instead of having to take out the stylus it would be great, but this is just a minor detail. Otherwise, it's great!

Thanks for the comment Hurley. Are you suggesting this b/c you want to paste typed text on another web page? Personnally I recommend mapping a hardware button on your Axim to open "Word" or some other program which you can paste the text into. Or just map to the Today screen and go from there. But if you are going to paste text on another web page, I can see your dilemma.

I would rather not make the white space bigger since the bigger the white space, the smaller I have to make the keyboard keys since Flash is basically a big rectangle like a .JPG image file.

Ah I didn't think of mapping a hardware button to word at all. That solves the problem and makes a lot of sense :) I can also see what you mean by limiting the white space since its a rectangle. Thanks for the tip :)

Just a note... I have received zero donations so far on my work concerning this Full_Screen keyboard. Obviously that may continue to be the case, but I'm sure some of you have the urge to give a bit back to this open development service if this is a application that you find usable. =)

As I said over PM, with your permission, I would like to try and attempt a program version of this (not flash).

Unfortunately, I'm not terribly great at programming, but I can try!

I just tested the keyboard, it works fine and also looks good.
But what I proposed is more difficult and I am afraid it is not possible to do with Flash Player.
I was referring to a transparent keyboard superimposed over program under edition, where you write directly on text under edition.

Think about same Windows native keyboard, with exactly the same behaviour, but keyboard will be fullscreen and transparent.

This way you get the sum of benefits of both type of keyboard (full & partial screen):

1. You have a big keyboard, like all fullscreen keyboards.
2. You get direct edition, like partial screen keyboards (Windows native one).

As far as I understand, the IPhone won't be able to use my keyboard until they get a Flash plug-in for their browser, correct? My keyboard is solely Flash-based.

you're right... but there are lots of wm owners who are looking for that iPhone look (just an idea)
